Laundry Day

Our home at sunrise
Our home at sunrise.

Today was a day to stay close to home.  They are calling for strong winds today through tomorrow noon.  There will be a lot of dust in the air today and tonight.

We were ready with the laundry at 11:00 and headed into town.  There is only one laundromat in town and we hit it at a good time.  There are seven washers, with one broke and we got three right in a row.  Sat outside in the warm sunshine and waited.Laundry day!

I walked around the parking lot with Fergie, waiting for Dolly to finish with the laundry and caught this Black Phoebe singing in a tree.

This is the view looking from the front of the laundromat.Looking out from the laundromat.
We then got some groceries to tide us over till we can find a Walmart and headed home before the winds get too strong.Got groceries.

If you would like to know more about Ghost Mountain and the Marshal South family,  there is some great information on the Travel with the Bayfield Bunch site that gives a lot of great information about him, his family and why he was at Ghost Mountain.

See you later.

  1. Not sure which grocery store you were at but the one we always use there is around behind a building & out of site. It's across the street from Calicos & the Library complex. On the north side of the street look for the Buckhorn Fudge Company & drive around behind that big building. There's a grocery store back there...........

    1. We did drive around to the grocery store looking for the laundromat. When we were at the laundromat, an old man that had been in the area for quite awhile told us the one in the mall was cheaper, so we tried that one. Will do the other one next and compare. The stores in this town are in funny places. Today, we hope to go to the Farmers Market, if the wind dies down.

    1. Yes, there is a lot of rugged beauty out here. We are finding that we must be careful in our hikes. Very remote country and one fall could make for a bad situation. We love it here!

  3. Glad you got the laundry caught up... I have to say, the washer/dryer combo in our rig comes in handy if we have excess water when travelling... uses about 6 gal to wash and 6 to rinse... we run the generator to run it through a cycle. If we know we are getting more water the next day, i will run the machine in the rig in the evening and let the clothes hang on hangers overnight all around the rig. I hate laundromats! haha
