Horse competition wrap-up

Sunday, March 18, 2018 – Location:  Las Cienegas NCA near Sonoita, Arizona

This morning I woke up to cool temperatures.  Got down to 39 degrees last night and today will only get to a 57 degree high.  The sun is out though, so the temperature doesn’t feel too bad when out of the northern breeze.

All of my photos today are from yesterday afternoon.

In the afternoon, Yuma and I made a road trip down to the horse camp to check out what’s happening.

Looks like a lot of horses resting and the riders mingling around or tending their horses.  I’m sure they’re tired and ready for an evening of rest.

See you later.

  2. It's really fascinating to see so many horses, trailers and campers in such a remote spot. Wonder how they came to there in the beginning. Can't get enough of the beautiful horses. Seeing them trotting together was something. Was the food shop there or something the riders brought along. It was interesting to se in the middle of nowhere. Have a good night. ❤

    1. Thanks Dolly. The food wagon came with them. Empty field when they leave. Glad I was able to get a group together. Usually in ones and twos. Good night. Lutoo ❤

  4. Correction to yesterday : their website is AERC.ORG 🐴 American Endurance Ride Conference 🐴 - can't find it by "googling" unless you already know what you're looking for. . Really enjoy all these great photos - only thing missing ? No Yuma for 3 days !!! 😱

    1. Thanks Moonfly. Poor Yuma got left out. He barked the first couple times a horse came by, but after a couple of admonishments he just laid next to me and watched. I collect him on a leash just in case though. Some of the riders had dogs and Yuma can't resist wanting to meet them.

      I'll check out their link.

  5. Great pictures again. I have to comment on the 3rd photo. No matter how friendly a fellow (cowboy in this case) is, a mustache like this one always gives a 'frowny, grumpy' look. ha ha
Like the last picture. He is going somewhere with gusto! That is one LOONNGG stride!
Glad you got to enjoy the horse show.

    1. He does have a big walarus mustache. I did have a good time watching the horses and their riders.

You're right about the cowboy. He was heading straight for the outhouse!(:
