Another beautiful day in Ajo

Slept in late this morning.  Almost 9 o'clock before we got out of bed and took our first walk.  It is another very nice morning.  Calling for breezes today, but it won't be a bother with me being down in a valley.

After a full breakfast and a little TV.  I watched "Crikey! The Irwin Family" and it was very interesting.  Never had watched it before.  I like animal shows.

Took a few pictures on our morning walk of the area.

So many different cacti in these two pictures.  They must love it here!

It was 2 o'clock when Yuma and I went into town.  One to enjoy the green grass of the Ajo Plaza, two to read blogs and write comments and three to get some peanut butter.  Couldn't believe I have completely run out.  That's a disaster if I don't have some for my morning crackers.😂

I took pictures of my two favorite wall murals.  Ajo has hundreds and if you do a search on my blog for Ajo, you will see almost all of them.  I will take more in the days ahead.

Entrance to the Ajo Copper News.

Rear wall of the Shadow Ridge RV Resort.

This afternoon Yuma and I took a walk towards a large boulder hill just south of us.  It is so beautiful I had to be outside before working on my post and fixing dinner.

There's my destination.

Black Mountain

Rock formation known as Locomotive Rock to the near left.

Ajo is on the other side of the Little Ajo Mountains and there is the White Lion down below.
It's now 5:30 and the sun has just dropped behind Ajo Peak.  I am surprised I was able to do this entire post without having to drive to a better location.  Life is good!  Now it's time for dinner, a little TV and off to bed.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. You're right in the middle of the saguaro! Lots of beautiful cacti around there. Glad you made it to town for peanut butter. That would have been a disaster in the morning.

Keep an eye on the weather, winds in our local forecast ... I have a kite and know how to use it :)

  3. We have ATT. Last year we could get voice on Darby Well road but we couldn't get a data signal anywhere in town. Do you have Verizon or ATT.

    1. I started with AT&T years ago and switched to Verizon. Much better service wherever I go.

  4. Ajo is a true oasis in the desert with its palm trees and green grass. One of the reasons we chose spots at the north end of Darby Well Road is the better internet connection. From some spots we could easily see the Verizon tower in Ajo. We liked that shorter scenic drive into Ajo from that end as well.

    1. I always stayed at the east end for the same reason. Crowded everywhere this year. Had to take what I could get. Still love it here even with a slight inconvenience.
