Slept great last night. I think I'm finally starting to relax. We got up and looked out and I could tell it was going to be another beautiful day. Already 50 degrees at 8 o'clock and hardly a cloud in the sky. My batteries got down to 29% at 4 o'clock this morning so I ran the generator for an hour to keep them from going completely dead.
I had plans today to meet some new neighbors sometime this afternoon and had to stay close to home so I could guide them in when they got here. Gave me a great excuse to lie down in my lounger and not feel guilty for not going anywhere today.
It was nearly 1 o'clock before I got all my breakfast courses done. During that time I called RV Connection over in Yuma to finalize the purchase of six 100 ah Weize TL12100 batteries. They ordered them and should have them in late next week. They installed my solar system and I really like them. It's a family run business.
Took several walks with Yuma.
Early this morning I moved my Jeep in the spot I had reserved for my new neighbors. I didn't want someone to come driving in and taking it before they arrived. Sure enough about an hour before they arrived a huge 5th wheel slowed down at the entrance of my road and looked in and then moved on down Darby Well Road. :) My move paid off.

Looking West |
Took a walk along the fence nearby that keeps people from climbing the massive tailings that run out from the pit on the other side.

Looking South toward White Lion and the Jeep reserving a place for my new neighbors |
As we were walking in the rocks and sand around our place, a glint caught my eye. Thought it was a piece of broken glass but instead it was a brand new pair of cheap sunglasses. Not a scratch on them. |
Cool man Luke! |
It was around 3:30 when I saw their rig come around the corner on Darby Well Road.

Another beautiful sunset! |
Tom and Deb made it safely and I guided them to their new home. I hope they like it. We talked just for a short while then Yuma and I said our good nights and moved the Jeep back to our place so they could get settled in before dark and of course, tonight is Gold Rush night! It's going to be nice to talk to someone besides Yuma for a change. :) |
What a life! |
It is 11 o'clock and definitely time for bed. See you later.
Have a good visit with your neighbors. Smart move using the jeep to save the spot.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jim. Yes it was. For once did something right.
DeleteI've always wanted to camp in places like that but am chicken to drive my rig down dirt roads not knowing if I will be able to turn around. Maybe one day you can give me a map with a couple of spots.
ReplyDeleteIt is always nerve racking to down strange roads but Darby Well Road has many sites and many places to turn around. Never a bad idea to unhook the Jeep and do a little exploring for the right place to stay.
DeleteNice spot you saved for Tom and Deb! Sounds like a good day enjoying the area! Love your selfie! Enjoy your visit!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shirley. Nice to have company. I think they like boondocking here.
DeleteA nice, relaxing day for you and Yuma. I'm sure Tom and Deb were glad to have a spot to set up the Stinger B. It's always good to see friends.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dolly. It is nice to have someone to explore with. Tom and Deb are not afraid to explore in their Jeep and I will tag along.
DeleteGreat site to share with friends, enjoy the company.
ReplyDeleteAnother awesome sunset
Thanks Jeff. The Ajo area has a lot of things to see and explore. Nice to have company.
DeleteIt will be nice visiting with Tom and Deb. They'll be able to save your spot when you get the new Batteries installed.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
It is nice having company. I'll be glad when the battery issue is resolved.
