Yesterday, I finished my post with us in the middle of a complete smoke whiteout near the top of Montezuma Pass. When the smoke cleared, I could see the mountains ahead and the smoke and fire were now behind me.
I was glad Tom and Deb didn't run into the rear of the Jeep going through the thick smoke. Yuma does not like fire, so he is not a happy passenger right now!😫 Pulled over to take a little breather.
Turned a corner and there was the parking lot at the top of the Montezuma Pass. Looked back to see were we had come.
While at the top of the pass, we walked around and looked at the views and of course pictures of ourselves to prove we were here.😀
One last look of the sign at the east entrance to the memorial and we headed for home. One last picture of the east side of the Whetstone Mountains before I turn west on hwy 82 towards Sonoita.
Needless to say, we were all tired by the time we got home around 5:30. I slept fairly soundly until about 8 o'clock this morning and woke up to a nice warm and sunny day. Last night got down to 30 degrees but I had the light on in the water bay and all was good.
I'm thankful for the nice warm day with no consistent winds blowing because I plan to rest. As I sat outside, a man walked by on the road with a dog and of course Yuma had to meet the dog. Asked if it was okay and it was fine. His name was Rick and his dog was a friendly one year old. The two of them raced around while we talked.
At around 4 o'clock we got together at my place for Happy Hour. It was a beautiful late afternoon with just a slight breeze. First time we've been able to sit outside in the evening for nearly a week. I'm so glad the cold weather is behind us. Not used to being cold😨
Called it a night around 6 o'clock and I made a couple of hotdogs for dinner and as I finish this post, it is 10 o'clock! Definitely time for me to go to bed.
Thanks for stopping by.
Looks and sounds like you've had a couple of real nice days. Gord.ReplyDelete
Yes. Glad the weather is warming up.Delete
Was that Rick and Shawnee that came walking by?ReplyDelete
May have been.Delete
Great pictures of your trip to Montezuma Pass.it looks like Yuma has a new friend. This one likes to run, too. You must have thought you were on Yellowstone, whe you saw the Cowboys working the cattle! Glad to see it's nice out, again, to enjoy Happy Hour.ReplyDelete
You're right Dolly. Real cowboys, real horses and real cows. This little dog loved running with Yuma.Delete
It's time to check up on all the new calves. I hope you enjoyed Montezuma Pass. Quite the views from up there. I wish I had only 1/4 of Yumas energy!!!ReplyDelete
Enjoyed the trip. When I got there I realized I've been there before. Checked my blog and I was there on March 18, 2017. Yuma keeps me young.Delete
Looks like it turned out to be a nice day for exploring after you got past the smoke.ReplyDelete
Before heading home it might be wise to lighten your load and dump your waste tanks.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Turned out to be beautiful. I will dump and clean the tanks before I get home to work on the valves.Delete
I was wondering if you would get above the smoke at the top. The views are great even with a bit of haze. 86 in Borrego today!, hope you continue to enjoy the good weather and what the DSW has to offer.ReplyDelete
I recognized some of the spots and views from atop the Montezuma Pass as well as that eastern Park sign. It's always neat to see pics of places we have been. Nice to see you are finally into some warmer weather.ReplyDelete
Love all the pictures especially of you 4 and you and Yuma! Looks like a good move to head on and see over the pass. Just gorgeous!Gotta love Happy Hour with friends!ReplyDelete
Thanks Shirley. Had a good day. I could get used to this :)Delete
