Things to do List

This morning I woke up at 8 o'clock but it was cold and partly cloudy out so stayed in bed until 9:30 reading blogs and writing texts.  Supposed to be windy and cool today.   Yuma finally decided he needed to go but unfortunately it was 12:30 in the morning😠

Yesterday, after 45 days, I finally bought glucose strips and tested my blood before dinner.  WOW!  Came back as 225.  Highest I'd ever seen in all my tests.  I had eaten a half grapefruit and two mandarins sometime earlier, so decided to wait till morning and check it after a night's fasting.

When I got up I checked and it was down to a more moderate 117.  That is a good number for me.  Back to testing now so I will know why my numbers fluctuate so much.

Only had two things on my to do list today.  Plan to stop by Walmart and buy a cellphone to TV cable so I can watch videos and my Netflix on the TV screen.  The second is to buy some small piping to replace the rusted piping at the exhaust of my water heater so it will be quieter.

At 1:30 we jumped in the Jeep and quickly got the cable at Walmart with no problem.  As for the piping, I went to ACE Hardware and they sent me into Tucson to Lowes, but they had nothing.😟  Drove straight north on the S. Houghton Road that was under construction.  The Santa Catalina Mountains are dead ahead with snow on Mt Lemmon.  Those are some high and rugged mountains!

Didn't get back home till 3:45!  This side of Tucson is growing like mad and the roads are being widened and there were long lines of cars at every stoplight.  Not used to heavy traffic like this and I don't like it!πŸ˜–

First thing I did when I got home was to hook the cable to the TV using the HDMI connection and the normal cellphone connection to my phone.  It worked perfectly.  I could see a mirror of everything on my phone on the TV screen.  We have a Netflix account, so I logged on to check it out.  I can now watch movies from my Netflix App.  Be interesting to look at my blog pictures on the big screen.  Haven't done that yet.

We've had winds most of the afternoon and the MH is swaying a little but it will soon die down.  Yuma could hear a loud base sound outside so we went out to investigate.  Cold out.  That is Mt Wrightson south of here.  Not exactly a ranch with a windmill but as close as I get in an RV park.πŸ˜€

There was a concert going on over in the Pina County Fairgrounds.  What state do you think this truck is from?

Cheeseburger for dinner tonight and maybe watch a Netflix movie before bed.πŸ˜€

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Good to hear you got your TV cable, hooked it up and now can see phone things on the TV. Pretty pictures of the mountains. Hopefully, the wind dies down soon.

  3. Glad you were able to get your Netflix connected like you talked about. It might be interesting to see the blog pictures on the TV screen. Well except for the ones, for me at least, that I take through the dirty windshield...lol Tom and I were talking as the wind was blowing here and both agree it has been a windier then normal year.

    1. Thanks Deb. Probably never use it but I have it just in case it rains all day. Tired of cold and winds too. I think it's about done.

  4. Hi Doug, please explain which cable you got for your phone....
I'm a dope with stuff like that, but with the 10,000 cords & cables I have around here, maybe I have one to mess around with.
    Thanks...

    1. Sure Upriverdavid. One end of the cable fits into your phone charger insert and the other is a standard TV HDMI plug. If you already have a plug for your TV and laptop probably don't need one.

  5. Carbs... too many carbs... your crackers are carbs and will increase your BS... drop the carbs and eat more proteins and pick a fasting time frame and don't eat before or after the fasting times... you can reverse it all if you want too.

    1. I agree MCA. I think I didn't buy strips so I could cheat for awhile😚 Back on the diet again now. I do want to remain healthy and bad food is not that important.

  6. I know what you mean by not liking the traffic. Its one of the few downsides of RVing and I don't like that congested traffic either. The larger the RV the more stressful it is. I like the photo with the highway leading towards Mt. Lemon. It puts the mountain into perspective.

    1. Staying in little towns and in the desert, I get a little rusty with driving in big cities. Planning to take the jeep up there soon.

  7. Never go anywhere around Tucson between 7:30 and 9:00 in the morning, nor 2:30 to 6:00 in the afternoon. Between work and the school kids, traffic is absolutely horrible. That repair work on Houghton doesn't help. Glad you found your cable and got the TV to work. I've done the same thing with my computer, but then I'd be using up too many Gb!!! I sure hope the wind quits soon!!!

    1. TV to laptop is the same idea. I don't have a modem on my laptop so phone seemed better for me. Hoping unlimited really means unlimited πŸ˜€ Thanks for the heads up on Tucson traffic.

  8. Hey Doug.. Its been awhile. The road to Mt. Lemmon is a must if you have never taken it. It has some excellent views. The Redington Road is also a good trip for the jeep. Years back used to be able to take the Redington Road all the way around and come out on the North side of Mt. Lemmon but they blocked the Old Mount Lemmon Road.

    1. Thanks for the Jeep road trip Peter. Looks so rugged and steep I didn't think there would be a road. I'm certainly heading that way this weekend.

    1. I would think laptop to TV would be about the same thing. I think the winds are going to be around for awhile but with warmer weather coming I can put up with it.

  10. Very clever connecting the phone to the tv! Sue would make it a lot easier on the eyes to watch! We hate traffic too and there seems to be more of it coming through our little town! Peter's suggestion for a drive sounds awesome! I think you and Yuma should do it! :)
