Font's Point

 Woke up with the sun around 7:30 this morning and took Yuma out for a quick walk.  It was very cool outside.  Went back to bed and slept till 9:30 and the sun was up and nice and warm outside with a slight southerly breeze finally 😀

I thought the strong winds were over last evening after the sun went down, but didn't last long.  They picked up with a vengeance and kept up till about 4:30 when all went quiet finally!

This morning we cleaned up the mess outside and swept all the sand away and had a nice three course breakfast enjoying the warm sunshine for a change.  They're calling for great weather for at least the next week getting warmer each day.

Was updated all morning about the foot of snow they had back home and they were wishing they were here 😁 I felt tired today for some reason so didn't do any more clean-up on the electrical work I was finishing up.  

Yesterday wasn't the best solar day although it was sunny all day it was so windy I laid the two solar panels on the ground so didn't get full charge.  Even so, the 600 watt system made it through the night but it was down to 12.0 when the sun came up.  Tonight will be an excellent test.

At 3 o'clock we decided to do a little exploring and Font's Point was my choice for the day.  Always love the view from there and it's only four or five miles to the entrance from where we are camped.  The following pictures will be a combo of Nick's and mine.  I did all the editing tonight.

The four miles is up a sandy wash and without four wheel drive it's iffy.  Font's Point overlooks a vast area and is located in the badlands where we are camping.

Here is a link telling you all about Font's Point.  Now that I'm a passenger, I know why Dolly hated riding in the Jeep on bumpy roads 😁  The suspension in this thing is horrendous!

Nick doesn't have the fear of heights that me and Yuma have 😨.  But I did get pretty close one time.

Coyote Mountain center and to the right is Clark Dry Lake bed with Santa Rosa Mountains in the far background.  And of course the badlands are all around us.

Home by 4:30 and a little more resting before writing my post and then dinner and bed.  It was a nice slow paced day that I like.
