Another 8 awake and 9 up morning. Still cool out but it will be a shorts kind of day for us northerners that think 65 is warm. To the Arizonians it's very cool.
After breakfast and building our strength by laying in the nice warm sun we decided today is the day to find those allusive petroglyphs. I studied the post I wrote the first time I found them and ironically, it was on 3-7-2017. Five years ago to the day. 😃
I am now fairly confident I know the location, so we headed directly there. I didn't want to hike anymore than I had to in this big rock infested area!
No missteps here or it's over. |
What luck! When Nick started back down, a Big Horn Sheep was below him.
Yuma and I wandered around looking for petroglyphs through the boulders doing exactly what my ankle didn't want me doing. 😰
Got home around 4 o'clock and by this time the wind was blowing with gusts over 20 mph. Not comfortable outside. As I was soaking my foot, Nick and I played a game of chess. We're both getting better every time we play and I truly enjoy getting back into the game after so many years.
Had cheeseburgers for dinner and we're watching Lone Star 911 while I write this post. Once I finish, it will be time for bed.
Thanks for stopping by.
Now that would be a good outing to me.
ReplyDeleteIt was tough on the feet.
DeleteThe search is part of the adventure. Glad Nick saw and shared the sheep with us and you both enjoyed the 'glyphs.
ReplyDeleteTurned out okay, but I was beginning to wonder.
DeleteTook some studying of your old post but you found those elusive petroglyph. That's really cool that you and Nick are playing so much chess! Another big horn sheep! That's very awesome!
ReplyDeleteTerrible when my post made them hard to find. I was amazed Nick saw another Big Horn Sheep.
DeleteReally love meeting up with those sheep. Every hike makes you stronger!!! Even if it does hurt a little.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy. Pi ched nerves are just hard to walk through.
DeleteExcept for your feet hurting this was a great day! Elva
ReplyDeleteYes. It was beautiful.
DeleteYes. It was beautiful.
DeleteLooks like some pretty rugged country. I would love to be out there hiking with you guys.
ReplyDeleteMy hiking days seem numbered. Hoping when I get home a doctor can get me going again.
DeleteGlad you found some petroglyphs at least! Such gorgeous views!!
ReplyDeleteTake care of that ankle. Can you say 'take a couple of days off?' :)
We enjoy 9-1-1 Lone Star as well, Captain Strand is fun! "Get over it!", sad ending though.
Thank you Patsy. It is a beautiful mountain range and accessible. Haven't watched local TV in awhile but used to watch back home.
