After a few tries, we finally made it out of Yuma 😀. Over the winter we spent a lot of time here. I must say this is the worst winter I've had with the Santa Ana winds.
In fact, last night they started up again and went most of the night but died down. However, just before dawn they started up again and went on till almost the time we left at 11 o'clock this morning.
We said our goodbyes to Tom and Deb who are also heading into an RV park in Yuma for awhile.
Then we went to the sand dunes to pick-up water and then into the service station at Pilot Knob to dump tanks and then one last stop in Yuma for fuel and we were finally really on our way at 1 o'clock heading east on I-8.Yuma, dead ahead! |
Black Mountain in the background. |
While we were driving through the desert on this warm and sunny day, back home, Dolly is in the midst of a snowstorm dumping more than a half foot of snow on their already snowy ground.
Poor birds 😩 |
We're ready to settle in for the night. Thank you for stopping by.
Nice to see you found your regular spot. Seems like a nice place to call home for a while.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to some nice spring weather and adventures.
DeleteI'm glad you made it to Ajo with no problems. Beautiful sunset!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dolly. Nice flat drive with no excitement 🙂
DeleteSay hello to Ajo and Darby Well road and don't forget to hug a Saguaro for me. You are at yet another one of my all time favorite places to be in the southwest.
ReplyDeleteI will Al. I'm looking forward to jeeping and hiking this beautiful area.
DeleteGlad you finally made it to Ajo. Looks like it will be a great place to stay for a couple weeks. I bet we ended up with about 10" of snow yesterday!🥶 Luckily it's going to be warm Sunday and maybe 50s on Monday. Enjoy the warmth!
ReplyDeleteI hope it's warmer with less wind. Weird weather this year. I'm curious just where you can park. One of these days I'll have to check out that area.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a different winter for sure with all the wind. Perfect area for parrots. The weather is beautiful.
DeleteI love those last 2 pictures. Jerry is going to the Yuma area next week to take care of some business. I keep checking the weather and it looks like windy weather again next week. I hope your area escapes it. Elva
ReplyDeleteMe too Elva. Enough wind for one winter.
DeleteLove the pics of Yuma in the dash! He knows how to ride! Beautiful area you are in! You boys enjoy!
