Jeep ride around Saddle Mountain

 This morning, Yuma and I slept in.  I think Yuma's feet are sore from all the rocks in yesterday's hike.  Both my feet and ankles feel the same, so the pinched nerve is gone 😀.   The soaking and ankle wrap did the job.  It was a strenuous hike and I did well.

Nick was looking at his pictures of the night we had a fire and noticed an eerie face in the flames.  A young woman appears to be burning alive! 😱 Another young lady is dancing below her.

The sun was out and it was cooler this morning, but with little wind, it felt nice outside in the lounge chair.  Before  we could have breakfast, I had to stream my grandson Lane's graduation ceremony in Orlando, Florida.

I was able to stream to my cellphone and cabled into the TV so I could watch on the big screen.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Recording Arts from the Full Sail University.  He will be looking for employment as an audio designer at a music or gaming studio.  So proud of Lane 😇.  Congratulations!

I didn't want to do anything today that involved hiking on rocks, so we decided to take a Jeep ride all the way around Saddle Mountain on the well traveled roads.  Took a couple of hours and 50 miles.




Someone's dreams were dashed when their home burned to the ground behind this pool.  All that is left is a pool shell.

On the east side of the mountain is a solar field.  Miles of it.  As far as the eye can see.

How would you like to clean snow off this driveway on Iron Mountain?

As we neared our camp, there is an abandoned housing area.  Probably used by workers that are no longer needed and the homes just sat.  Probably after creating the driveway for the rich home owner on Iron Mountain behind them. 😁




Watched Gold Rush at 6 o'clock and then had dinner.  Cheeseburgers and chips.  Tomorrow is steak night.😋

    Congratulations to Lane! Wonderful pictures of your jeep ride.The campfire flames do look like a woman's face. Interesting. It's too bad those abandoned houses couldn't be used for something.

      Thanks Dolly. Happy for Lane. Almost on his own now. Just needs a JOB😀 It looked like some people were camping in a few of the better homes.

    I'm always interested in those old houses. Who lived there and why did they live? Glad you're feeling good after that hike!! Congratulations to Lane!

      Thanks Shirley. Only had two fires while camping and this one showed a startling image. Those homes were cheaply made and I guess had served their purpose.
