Moving east

Up early this morning at 7 o'clock anxious to get the 5% left packed and on our way.

See Dolly!  Plenty of room.😁
Skipped breakfast and we were ready to leave at 9:30.  Had a short visit with Kay to finalize things and give her the keys.

We were on the road at 10 o'clock, heading for the Road runner rest area in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  First stop at 2 o'clock in Texas Canyon, east of Tucson.

Not the picture we wanted, but what we have to live with.  No nice rest in a comfortable White Lion this time.  Then off toward the New Mexico line.  It was 4 o'clock Mountain Time, so we lost an hour.

We stopped in Deming at 5 o'clock to pick up dinner at the Subway in the Walmart.  Then off in a hurry to the Roadrunner rest area an hour down the road.  Don't want to miss the sunset pictures.
Just made it!

My office at the rest area.
Decided we would do a little night driving.  Nick is not ready for bed, so we will mosey on down the road a little more before calling it a night.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Well, it does look like you fellows did a good job of packing. Excuse me, if I seem surprised and a little shocked. 😁 super pictures of the rock formations and the sunset at the Road Runner Rest Area. Be careful on your drive. I'd rather you got here later rather than soone and in one piece. Take care.

  2. The photos of the loaded uHaul will become great conversation photos in the future! WL is resting comfortably. You all drive careful and be sure to check the hitch and tires along the way.

  3. Amazing what you can get in one of those trailers. Definitely a different trip home for you. Two of my favorite rest areas. It is amazing how those boulders are balanced and great picture of the Roadrunner in the light of the sunset. Travel safe.

  4. Lots of room left in that trailer!!!!! Take it easy ... no use running yourselves into the ground. Nick has come in quite handy!!! I guess now you'll have to let him win a chess game or two!!!

  5. Stayed at the Roadrunner Rest Area for the first time on our way home last year...it was pretty quiet, well guarded, and has a nice little doggie walk for the little one. Hope you spring for at least one cheep motel on the way home...sleeping in the Jeep can only go so far.

    1. BTW: La Quinta Motels are all dog friendly, not necessarily cheep, but not high cost either.

  8. I can't imagine you three sleeping in the Jeep..thinking it can't be too comfy. You need to remember to take care of yourself..not eating breakfast isn't a good thing. That's quite the load you got in there! Hoping there's no problems on the way home. I agree with Nancy to take it easy. :)
