A lucky stop by RV Connection

Location:  BLM near Winterhaven, California

Last night around 3:30 Yuma had to go out.  I think I fed him too much yesterday.  Anyway, we were roaming the desert by flashlight.  He got the job done and we were soon back in bed.  I was up making coffee by 7:30.  Going to be a hot one today.  Beautiful morning with clear blue skies and just a little breeze and already 60 degrees, going to 85.

Tested my glucose this morning and it is 112 which is great.  Eating what I want and the blood sugar remains low.  I'll take that! :))

Took a few walks and laid around during the morning.  Talked to my neighbor Don.  He is heading into Yuma to start two weeks of chemotherapy.  He's a four year survivior of lung cancer and very positive this procedure will finally kill the last of the tumors in his lungs.  I wish him the best.

Around 11:30 Yuma and I headed into town to visit Walmart.  Needed ice and I'm completely out of pudding.  :((  Can't have that!  I also decided to stop by RV Connection to make sure I'm okay for the 17th for my solar installation.

When I got there and talked to Jordan, he said my stuff is in and if I could be there by 10 o'clock tomorrow morning they could squeeze me in over the weekend.  Ten days early!  You bet I said I could be there.  I am more than happy I stopped by to check today.  Don't think they would have called me.  I've been at this location 14 days, the limit for my stay so the timing is perfect.  I was going to move soon anyway.

Got my things in a hurry at Walmart because didn't want to leave Yuma in the Jeep in this heat very long.  We got home around 2 o'clock and Yuma and I just laid around in the shade waiting for the heat to subside.

Around 4 o'clock, I got the Dish up and running in preparation for Gold Rush tonight.  Going to be a busy evening:  cooking, watching Gold Rush, blog and packing for an early departure in the morning.  Always something going on.

Today happens to be my daughter-in-law Sarah's birthday.  She is married to my youngest son, Jim.  Happy birthday, Sarah!

My number 2 son, Steve recently picked up two dogs that needed a home. They are foster parents and the doggies came from Pet Central Helps in Normal, Illinois.  Dolly took Fergie over to Steve's house to meet her new cousins.  What little cuties!  Emmy is a Dorkie, Fergie is a poodle and Rose is another Dorkie
Emmy, Fergie and Rose.

Emmy, Fergie and Rose.
At 5:30 I was cooking a similar dinner to last night and again it went quickly and it was excellent.

The evening is coming to a close and I'm watching Gold Rush.  I'll be packing in the dark tonight, but it is a beautiful evening.  Won't mind.
See you later.

  1. How lucky to get your panels early. Hopefully, you'll be done and isolating soon. Actually, Emmy is a Dorkie, but Rose is a Shih-poo. The are both cuties, though. Great picture of you at your cooking station! Don't forget Yuma, when you're cooking those steaks! 😀 Good luck this weekend.

  8. Good to see everything moving right along. The dogs are adorable....they are so lucky to be in a wonderful home. Interesting to see you eating tri tip steaks. I didn't check this last winter but a few years ago I couldn't find those steaks in Yuma. I hope Sarah reads your blog.... Happy birthday and I love your hair!
