Mittry Lake is a beautiful 600 acre lake managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM).  It is free to camp at the lake in designated areas for a period of 10 days per calendar year.  It is located about 7 miles north of Yuma, Arizona.

  1. Those are great photos of the palm tree peninsula - I can just imagine walking there. Are there any birds ? Are people allowed to car camp or tent camp in spots along the water ? Keep on enjoying everything !

  2. The birds we see most often are the Willow Flycatcher, ducks and cranes.

You can tent camp or car camp, no problem.

Can be crowded in certain places mainly at the spots with Lake access, but there are pull ins for single vehicles that are private but no water access.
