Mittry Lake near Yuma, Arizona
Woke up this morning and told Dolly Merry Christmas and my day started. It was around 8:30 and it was a beautiful clear Christmas day. Calling for rain all day tomorrow, but not today.Had a huge breakfast of three scrambled eggs, three slices of bacon and a glass of milk and ready to relax for the day.
Around noon, Yuma and I walked down to the boat landing nearby and I took some pictures of Mittry Lake. It is much larger than this, but the reeds hide much of it. As we got close to the ramp, Yuma spotted Jeb at one of the trailers and just had to say a quick hello. He didn't like the leash slowing him down.
Had to tie Yuma to the dock to get his picture. He didn't like the moving dock and would follow me each time.
There's my place up near the road.
Headed back to camp and
did this for the rest of my Christmas day.
Had myself a steak dinner to celebrate the occasion and hope everyone has had as relaxing and enjoyable Christmas day as I have had.
Merry Christmas everyone and see you later.
It sounds like your Christmas couldn't have been nicer or more relaxing. Beautiful pictures of Mittry Lake. Can't blame Yuma for not liking the floating dock.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dolly. I hope you had a nice day with the kids.
DeleteMerry Christmas Doug!
ReplyDeleteThank you and Merry Christmas to you.
DeleteWater in the desert is always a huge attraction and it's Mittry Lake itself that makes the area so attractive to so many. And palm trees to boot.
ReplyDeleteYep. And I haven't gotten to the Palm trees on the small peninsula yet.
DeleteWhat a great way to spend Christmas. After Thursday's rain, looks like it will be beautiful again. Funny watching Yuma get his sea legs on the floating dock. Has he ever been out on a boat.? Water is so blue. 😎
ReplyDeleteThanks Moonfly. He doesn't like water much and hasn't been on a boat. Glad this rainy weather is just a one day event.
DeleteMerry Christmas ... what a beautiful lake!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy and Merry Christmas to you.
DeleteIt sounds like a perfect Christmas Day for you and Yuma! Beautiful area you are in! Steak for dinner sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shirley and I hope you and Ken had a nice Christmas. Thanks to Dolly I'm eating real food this winter.
DeleteMerry Christmas, my friend. I'm glad you had a nice quiet day with your pal.
ReplyDeleteWe prefer a more social surrounding especially on Christmas. You would have been welcome to join us!
Thank you Patsy. I know I would have been welcomed and that means a lot. Not comfortable in social settings so I'm sure you understand.
DeleteBeautiful area. We plan on going there soon. Have a great day. Hopefully the rain will be just a one day event.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Let me know and I'll give you two the tour. Speaking of tours, that one Jerry did with Deb was excellent. I'm going to find out what area that was. I've been up to Picacho Peak but all I got was miles of washboard road.
DeleteVery nice Christmas! The weather here was actually beautiful! Lower 60s sunny and not much wind. Is there any fish in Mittry Lake? Hopefully you don't get to much rain today.
ReplyDeleteYou did have a nice day for Christmas. Same as here. Lots of fish and fisherman here. So far just clouds and a breeze. I'll take it. Have a great day.
