Again, I woke up around 3 o'clock thinking it was near 7. Took awhile but made it back to sleep till 7:30. Maybe today is the day. Had a full breakfast and it quickly warmed from the overnight coolness.
For some reason, I felt depressed this morning. Not normal for me. Expressed to Dolly by text how I felt and she helped by reminding me I could be sitting at home looking out at a chilly rain. Have to be reminded that I'm retired and there is no real rush to be anywhere, so enjoy where you are.
As we laid around the White Lion waiting for someone to start doing something, I started to get real irritated. It's now 11:30 and nothing. Half the work day shot and no one has come by. I think what bothers me most is the lack of communication. I'm not one to bug people about their business, but it sure would be nice to know the plans.
Finally, I couldn't just wait for them to do something. Maybe, if we leave they will come out of the woodwork😈! We jumped in the Jeep without a plan except to go somewhere. Anywhere. Then I remembered the Casa Grande Ruins are near here, so looked it up and it is less than half an hour away, so off we went😁.
The city of Casa Grande is only about 15 miles away, but the Casa Grande Ruins are not located there. They are located in the small town of Coolidge, just east of the city of Casa Grande.
The Casa Grande Ruins National Monument is a beautifully kept grounds and the price for entry is FREE! And they allow dogs, so we were happy to be able to take Yuma with us.
|Time to go Dad!|
Wishing and praying for a decent outcome for you.ReplyDelete
Beautiful pictures of the rings. It was a his idea to get away for the day. Dolly is right, look how fortunate you are!!
Thank you and Bill for your good wishes. Dolly always keeps me grounded. I finally figured out rings was ruins and went to next comment and you had answered it.😀 Thanks for the mind twister😆Delete
Ruins, not rings. Lol auto correct!!ReplyDelete
The Ruins looked like an interesting place to visit. Better than sitting in the MH stewing. 😅 Hope the news today is good. Keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞 Good luck!ReplyDelete
Yes. It was a perfect diversion for us. It was hot yesterday and today the same. Thanks for the good thoughts. Hopefully by noon I'll know how bad things are.Delete
Sending all my best. At least they FINALLY did something. I understand the depression .. especially when your plans go so far awry. It's like you're in limbo. Hoping they get it done today. Those ruins are really cool. I love how they built such tall buildings out of dirt and water ... and parts still exist today.ReplyDelete
Thanks Nancy. Hoping today is the day I know the fate of the White Lion. The ruins were a little different than our normal adventures but very interesting. Surprised how many people were there.Delete
🤞🤞🤞🤞. Getting out and enjoying the sun and warmth does lift spirits! Looked like an interesting place to check out. You're not missing anything around here. Hope you get good news!ReplyDelete
The sun does do the trick. We enjoyed the ruins and it gave us a place to visit nearby. Hoping for good news too. Don't want to have to go with backup plan. 😪Delete
First glad to see things are finally progressing at the diesel shop. Really hoping your blog tonight is filled with good news and you and Nick enjoy celebrating with the New York Strip.ReplyDelete
Those ruins are on our list of things to see and we enjoyed seeing the wonderful pictures you took. Nice that Yuma was allowed to visit with you. That just may be our next stop...😊
Delays can be frustrating especially when there is a lack of communication. Sounds like Dolly got you back on track to enjoying the journey just where you are at.
Hoping for the best possible diagnosis tomorrow. I certainly understand the stress of your situation.ReplyDelete
