Donkey hunt

We had no plans for today.  This morning, Yuma got me up at 8:30 and it was a beautiful warm morning outside.  We went for a little walk and then just sat outside enjoying the morning.

After breakfast we thought about running into Ajo for groceries, but decided we have enough to last till we leave the area.

We just laid around the RV all day until 4 o'clock when Nick suggested we walk up the hill towards Black Mountain to search for the donkeys he saw the other day on his hike to the top.

Off we go.  Our goal is the knoll dead ahead.

We're watching and waiting.

Other than the beauty of the place and the desert quiet, we saw nor heard nothing else.  It was getting on 5:30 and we had things to do so the elusive donkeys are safe from our cameras today.

We grilled chicken breast and rice for dinner and it was delicious.  I think Yuma ate half my chicken.  Never going to gain weight with Yuma begging for everything 😁.

It is such a warm and quiet evening, we decided to make a fire and enjoy looking up at the stars.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Sorry your burros didn't show up. They probably spied you all hiking up the hill. Glad to hear the weather is finally staying nice. Your fire looks very inviting.
