The Santa Ana winds came in last night as predicted and howled all night long, rattling everything that wasn't tightly secured. When I got up at 9 o'clock, it was still howling outside. Luckily, the sand wasn't kicking up here, but looking at the mountains, they were hard to see.It was about 12:30, Yuma and I had enough of the wind and decided to drive through one of the badland gorges below us and be out of the wind.

After a 2 hour grueling Jeep ride, we finally came up into the wind and flat ground once more. We were directly across from the satellite tower.
