Location: Darby Well Road near Ajo, Arizona
It was quite chilly last night with lots of rain and wind, so Yuma and I were in our warm bed by 9 o'clock. I was tired so turned off the light and fell to sleep. However, I woke at 2:30 and every hour after that for some reason. Made for a long night.
The rain stopped and the wind died down sometime in the night, and there were sun and clouds when I took Yuma for his walks today.
In the afternoon, it was quite warm laying in the sun, but when the sun went behind clouds it cooled down rapidly. In the late afternoon there was quite a few large clouds draining the heat from the day, so by 5 o'clock I was inside with the windows closed.
Going to cook out on the grill tonight. No rain and no wind for the foreseeable future. That's good.
See you later.
The desert is so wonderful with life after the rains and the smell is nearly impossible to describe. Great pictures showing what the rest of us miss.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeff. Lots of rain and now I'm waiting for the flowers.
DeleteSounds like a very relaxing day.The desert looks pretty green. Lots of beautiful cacti! Yuma does enjoy his walks. 😀 A fantastic picture of the sunset tonight! Really spectacular.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dolly. I overcooked my steak waiting for that sunset. :)) It was a no drama day. Just the way I like it.
DeleteWhat a great day, relaxing. Funny, we are in Indiana and it didn't cool down last night at all. Still 66F. :) About to change quickly though,
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring!
Thanks Patsy. You're passing through my neck of the woods. Hope the weather holds till you get home. Happy Spring right back at you. :))
DeleteI always love seeing the green Sonoran desert and especially there in the Darby Well area and one never forgets that distinctive aroma in the air after a desert rainfall. Heard it said the creosote bushes contribute greatly to that. I think Gaelyn from Geogypsy is somewhere near you unless she has exited the area.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful area Al. I love it here. I'll keep an eye out for Geogypsy.
DeleteBeautiful pictures Doug! The desert is certainly green! Gorgeous sunset picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shirley. Burned my steak waiting for the perfect sunset picture. :))
DeleteI wondered if you were still in the desert. I enjoy your pictures. Looks like Yuma is quite comfortable in your chair. Since we were so busy socializing before starting home and then moving daily I've not had a chance to read all of the blog posts. It was a beautiful 70+ day here in Kansas after a heavy rain but today is supposed to be in the 40's with overnight low's below 30. Welcome home, huh? Lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheri. Still out here for awhile more. Not in a hurry to back to the cold. Good ole Kansas weather. Up and down this time of year.
DeleteYup ... just hanging out! How nice it happens to be in a beautiful spot with lots of space and no neighbors!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful and fairly remote. Love it here.
DeleteGreat pictures of the area! Very pretty area. Glad the rain and wind subsided!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve. I'm glad the weather has improved. Beautiful area of Arizona.
DeleteThe weather may be keeping you inside but you are safer then most.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy the fresh air.
It's about time.
Thanks Rick. For once it pays to be a loner in the desert.
