Happy St. Patrick's Day from Ajo, Arizona

Location:  Darby Well Road near Ajo, Arizona

Was awake with the Sun this morning, but laid in bed till the clouds dissapated and the Sun was actually shining.  Yuma wanted to go outside and see our new home, so got up and took him for a walk.

Going to be a great day with a high of 70 and sunshine.  I think Yuma and I will just stay around camp today and maybe hit the store later this afternoon.  Here are some pictures from around camp today.
Our site in the morning light.
My view from the doorway of Black Mountain.
The road I'm on only goes about 500 feet and deadends at this old water tower.
Water tower and an old rock separater with Black Mountain in the background.
Lots of Saguaros with Little Ajo Mountain in the background.
Big Ajo Mountain.

Looking West on Darby Well Road.
Looking East on Darby Well Road.  Those are tailings from the Ajo Open Pit Mine on the other side.
Yuma telling me to stop taking pictures and hurry along.
Cactus Wren from the tail end.  Wouldn't turn around  :((
Our place and Black Mountain in full sunlight.
Me with no hat and a smile.
We had a nice relaxing day.  Ran to Olsens around 3:30 and picked up some more dog food and a few other things and called it a day.  Hope you had a nice St. Patrick's Day.   We did.

See you later.

  2. Glad to read you were able to get everything taken care of with the White Lion in short order. It must have felt good to get that taken care of. Looks like a great spot you are at out on Darby Road. Enjoy your time relaxing in the sun. Yes, there are Packer fans all over the place even in the Southwest...LOL

  4. Great pictures of your spot. Trust the local stores continue to stock what you are in need of. Not much in the local markets right now.

    1. Thanks Jeff. Luckily, not many people live here. Quite remote. Good pla e to be if groceries continue to be delivered.

  8. Beautiful. I'm using my phone right now. Can't wait to see your pics on the PC. There are many many Green Bay fans out west. And they "true" fans... Not the kind that come and go. The 9ers are my first team.... then the Packers. Have an awesome day!
