My Weber Q Grill came in and Survivor

Location:  BLM near Winterhaven, California

I really slept well last night and was awake just after the Sun around 7 o'clock.  I was out of bed and taking Yuma for a walk as my coffee percolated by 8 o'clock.

Going to be another beautiful day just like yesterday.  But starting tomorrow we will be getting into the 80s so we're looking at a two day heat wave of sorts.  I'm sure it will get much hotter soon enough.
Imperial sand dunes off to the West.
I would like to drive there in the Jeep but a little fearful of getting stuck.  Not sure if there is a road to those mountains of sand.
Yuma with the little chapel on the hill as a backdrop.
Around 10:30, Yuma and I headed into town.  First I went by Lowes to check if my grill by chance had come in.  They said it may be on the truck but it had not been unloaded yet.  Oh well!

Next we ran to Walmart and I got groceries and also picked up some green and white rugs for the White Lion.  It was nearly 1 'clock before we got home.  Sure does take a long time to do my shopping.
Two runners and one to go under my chair.

The other end of the runner and one for under the kitchen sink.
After putting the rugs down, I decided to straighten up the two bays by the door to make more room.  I still need to get some containers to be more efficient, but that will be later.
Yuma is a lot of help :))
Got it set up to where the most important things are to the front.  And got rid of some stuff too or moved them to another bay.

Finished around 4 o'clock and then I noticed I had an email saying my Weber Q Grill was ready for pickup.  Decided not to wait till morning, so Yuma and I made another dash into Lowes.  No one was in line but it took them about half an hour to bring it out to me.  Finally, I had it and headed home.

It was nearly 5:30 by the time I got home.  Too late to use my new grill tonight.  Will have to wait till tomorrow night after I've had time to read the instructions.
Yuma is happy.  No more smoke alarms going off.

Looks like R2D2 in Star Wars.
Tonight is Survivor night on TV, so had to cook dinner while watching the show at 7 o'clock or I'd be up forever getting this post done.  Managed to watch the show, cook and eat at the same time.  Will miracles never cease! :))  Still got my pudding with whipped cream waiting in the wings.

There was a big blind side tonight on Survivor.  Won't say who just in case someone will be watching it later.

See you later.

  1. You finally got your grill. Hope you get a lot of use out of it. No, you don't want to get stuck in the sand Dunes. They are beautiful, though. Your rugs look very nice.

    1. Thanks Dolly. You're right. Even a 4 wheel Jeep can get stuck in that stuff. I'm glad you like the rugs.

  5. The rugs look good, nice to see the pics of them laid out in the WL. Did you plan to use a grill mat with the new Q?

    1. Thanks Elva. Things are getting much better. Have time now to do some things I want and not because I have to. Survivor was a surprise for someone. Doesn't pay to try to be a leader.

  8. Nice peek at the inside of your White Lion and the rugs do add a nice touch. Tom uses our Weber Q a lot, infact we will be putting ribs on it this afternoon using George's Recipe.

FYI: Last year we took a ride on road along the canal. When you are looking towards the wall/Mexico where you are parked the road is back there. When you first come in off the Interstate the road that keeps going past the LTVA where Elva and Jerry were parked; we took that back to it and turned left and followed that road. You can go as far as where the canal crosses under the Interstate. Not exactly into the sand dunes but a nice ride.
