Not much happening

Location:  Parking lot of RV Connection in Yuma, Arizona

This morning I again woke up as the sun was rising.  Checked my solar monitor and it read 60% capacity.  I was happy with that.

I expected the percentage to rise after the sun came up, but it continued

to fall as I started turning things on in the WL.  Uh oh!  I checked my inverter to make sure it hadn't switched off in the night.  Then I climbed up and looked at the panels on the roof.  Problem solved:
Huge billboard blocking the Sun!!
The sun finally passed over the billboard around 10 o'clock and my batteries were 100% shortly after.

There was a lot going outside this morning.  A big Phaeton motorhome came into RV Connection for some work.  While he was parked in the parking lot, a washing service washed his entire motorhome for $100.  A little steep for my taste.
Phaeton in the middle after washing.
My neighbors, Toby and Elizabeth talked to the washers and got a deal, so they went ahead and had them clean their trailer.  They are the parents of Roxy.  Yuma and Roxy got along great today.  I think they have decided to be friends.
I'll wait and wash mine at a car wash down the road.
I accomplished a couple of small maintenance jobs on the WL this morning too.   There is one seam coming apart on the awning, so I went into RV Connection and bought awning tape and borrowed Toby's ladder and taped both sides of the seam.  That should hold until I can get it sewed properly.  I also bought some dicor self leveling lap sealant and sealed a few seams in the roof that were cracking.

At 1 o'clock I went to Walmart and got some groceries.  One thing I made sure not to run out of.
Never can be too cautious. :))

After all the activity today, Yuma and I stretched out on the bed and rested for awhile.  Had to get up at 6 o'clock and finish my post.  I had just remembered I'm now two hours behind Dolly and don't want her to stay up waiting on my blog update.

It's cloudy now and will be cloudy all day tomorrow with some rain.  We'll see how the batteries hold up.  Thinking of turning off the Fridge for the night to preserve batteries till morning.  We'll see how it works out.  Good test while I'm still here at RV Connection.

See you later.

  1. It must have been a surprise to see the sun blocked by that huge billboard! It's good to get some minor repairs done, while you're close to stores. Yuma's happy to have a friend, I'm sure. Are you sure you have enough whipped topping?? 😀Hope everything works out with the fridge!

  2. You must put whipped cream on everything!!! Do you put it on hot dogs too??? Glad you are smiling about the solar. It will take a while to figure out the do's and don'ts. Don't be scared to make it work. Wishing sunny skies for you!!

  3. Ahahahaha cool whip!!!! I do love the stuff, but it doesn't love me. I may just have to check into solar for my rig. It would be nice to be parked away from everyone. Sounds like you are getting the rig ship shape.

    1. Trying to put on some weight but it's slow going. Trying to do some things myself to save a few bucks. Remember you can't use solar power for AC so summers would require a generator or landline.

  4. Laughing also at the Cool Whip. Now there is no hesitation to buying so much of a good thing, with that big fridge! :)

  5. Wow. Nice to have lots of room so you can stock up on Cool Whip. Is it always chocolate pudding? I also enjoy tapioca and rice pudding. I'm happy Yuma has a new friend. Blessings.....

    1. I like chocolate and Tapioca but Walmart was out of tapioca. I haven't seen rice at Walmart either. Yuma runs and plays with Roxy now they know each other.

Beautiful when we arrived in San Felipe but thunder lightning and poor solar charging, but the generator works
