The last Happy Hour

Location:  BLM near Winterhaven, California

Another late morning again.  Almost 9 o'clock before I woke up this morning and I still felt tired.  Don't know why I bounce up and down in energy levels day to day, but I do.

It was windy through the night and I got up at 4 o'clock to put the bedroom awning up because it was flapping so much.  The wind continued throughout the day and is still blowing as I write my post.  Not so bad that it is blowing sand everywhere, but going at least 12 mph with higher gusts.

It was 1 o'clock before I was finished with breakfast and walks with Yuma.
Our Sunday day of rest.
I managed to mop the kitchen and living room floor so got rid of the last windstorm sand.  The dustbuster required 10 hours of battery charge before use, so didn't use today.  Tried it this evening and it is powerful.  I think it is going to do fine.

Around 2:30 Yuma started barking wanting to head out in the Jeep to Happy Hour.  He sure learns my patterns fast.  He likes being around people.  So, I ate a quick lunch and grabbed a Zero Coke and glass of ice and headed over to Ken and Kim's place for my last Happy Hour for awhile.  There is only three of us today.  And Yuma of course.  We covered a lot and I think we know each other much better.

Going to miss the people I've become friends with this past couple of weeks.  Seems like I've known Bill, Patsy, Ken and Kim forever.  They are good people, even if they are Canadian. :))

Left at a little after 5 o'clock and stopped by the service station for 20 pounds of ice.  One was not enough yesterday.   Then I got everything packed and put away.  Hooked the Jeep too since I will be leaving here at 7:30 in the morning.

Haven't decided where I'll end up tomorrow night, but it will be in Arizona and not California.  I will need to stick around till my grill arrives and I haven't heard anything yet as to delivery date.  Should be tomorrow or the next day.

As I'm doing my post I'm watching The Walking Dead.  One of Dolly's favorite TV shows and I'm hooked on it too.  Tomorrow the White Lion will be in the shop most of the day and I'll be doing laundry.  Been quite awhile since last laundry day.  :))  Another exciting blog day.

Be a late dinner and early bed tonight.  I will be getting up early in the morning to arrive at the shop around 8:30.

See you later.

  1. Sounds like a pleasant, if unevenful day. I know you'll miss your Happy Hours. Maybe once you relocate, you can start your own HH. Good luck with tomorrow's oil change and laundry errands. Yuma looks content - as always.

  4. If Yuma's picture doesn't say relaxing Sunday I do not know what does...😎
We are having the same sort of Monday morning as we are scheduled to be at the shop between 8 and 8:30 to have our brakes checked...fingers crossed neither rig has an expensive morning.
Always nice to spend time with friends and just a little bittersweet when it is time to say see you down the road. Safe Travels.

  6. Maybe ?? You could store extra bag of ice in your freezer - IF, you set it in a dish pan to catch any melting water. Poke a drain hole in bottom of bag & won't need to open the ice. Just an idea. 😎

    1. Thanks for the thought Moonfly, but the service station is only a few miles away so not bad for ice.
