Just hanging around camp

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 – Location: Las Cienegas NCA near Sonoita, Arizona

This morning I awoke to mild temperatures.  No heater needed this morning.  Supposed to get to 78 degrees today with plenty of sunshine, so it will be a nice day.

This will be my last day here in the grasslands so I decided to just lay around all day and enjoy the beauty of this area.  Of course, Yuma demanded a few hikes around the area during the day.  He can only lay around so long before he gets bored and wants to explore and sniff around.

Just some pictures I took on a walk along the horse and cow trail near our site.

Heading for home for the last night here.  I’ve had a great time in this area and will miss it.

  3. I recognized that big old metal water tank right away. For the last two years the grasslands have kind of been our 'jumping off' place for heading home. It truly is a place of peace and tranquility.

    1. The metal tank is kind of hidden away. Unless you know it's there you can miss it. I'm starting my eastward trip today.

  6. Beautiful day for relaxing and special times with Yuma. I sense you are getting restless for Home.?. We are having Spring snows but the sun is actually shining and they melt pretty fast. Get yourself in a good location for Gold Rush on Friday night. 🌵🐕🐦🌞

    1. Thanks Moonfly. Glad it's starting to look like Spring even though it's snowing.

I'm hoping to be at the roadrunner rest stop overlooking Las Cruces Friday night.

  7. Such a beautiful spot for you to relax. I don't blame Yuma for wanting to hike a bit in the area. Put your feet up and snooze in the warmth.
Travel safe when you move on.
I'm impressed with your mountain knowledge, you put me to shame.
