My 95 year old father, Benjamin Ames Laning, died last night in his sleep. I am sad; however, knowing he lived a long and healthy life is comforting.
Our greatest pastime together was playing golf. In all the years we played together, i never could beat my “old man”. He was good at everything he took an interest in.
I will miss him of course, but now I must prepare to fly to his long time home in Nashville, Tennessee and join my family to say our final goodbye.
I will resume my blog upon my return to Yuma.
I am so sorry for your loss. Losing our parents is so hard. Take care of yourself and best wishes on your travels.
ReplyDeleteThank you and Jer, for your thoughts at this time.
ReplyDeleteMr. Laning, my condolences on the passing of your father. He was one of the many great Laning/Lanning family members that served this country. My grandfather was a Lanning. I have created a Laning/Lanning family tree. I have tried to follow the families of the original Laning/Lanning families to the present day. If you are interesting in viewing this tree send me an e-mail to jaysspencer@juno.com and I will send you an invite to your e-mail address. Jay S. Spencer San Diego
