In Memory of my Dad

My 95 year old father, Benjamin Ames Laning, died last night in his sleep.  I am sad; however, knowing he lived a long and healthy life is comforting.

Our greatest pastime together was playing golf.  In all the years we played together,  i never could beat my “old man”.  He was good at everything he took an interest in.

I will miss him of course, but now I must prepare to fly to his long time home in Nashville, Tennessee and join my family to say our final goodbye.

I will resume my blog upon my return to Yuma.

  3. Mr. Laning, my condolences on the passing of your father. He was one of the many great Laning/Lanning family members that served this country. My grandfather was a Lanning. I have created a Laning/Lanning family tree. I have tried to follow the families of the original Laning/Lanning families to the present day. If you are interesting in viewing this tree send me an e-mail to jaysspencer@juno.com and I will send you an invite to your e-mail address. Jay S. Spencer San Diego
