Bad head cold

Location:  Saddle Mountain near Tonopah, Arizona

Didn't sleep well again last night making for another long night.  Woke up this morning with an excellent example of a head cold.  Watery eyes and runny nose with lots of sneezing.  My Tylenol cold medicine is failing me.

Had crackers and coffee for breakfast and I could tell on my walk with Yuma, it was going to be a cloudy and mild day with maybe some rain.

About 10:30 I felt well enough to head back into Buckeye and do a little shopping and then over to Lowes to pick up a propane line plug.  Got those two things done and picked up three gallons of water and I was back home by 2 o'clock.  I hate driving 20 miles to just go shopping, but that's how it is.  Wouldn't be bad if I didn't feel so bad.

When I got back I burned a little trash and then went inside to rest.  My head cold came back with a vengeance.  Got into bed and rested for an hour or so.  About 4:30 the skies opened up and it poured.  Thunderstorms and wind to go along with it.  Guess I'll find out if the White Lion leaks.

Around 4 o'clock I tried calling Leighton at Main Street RV in Apache Junction, but he is still out sick.  His assistant told me to give him a call in the morning.  If he's still out, I'll give Mesa RV a call and make an appointment.

My eyes are watering so much I can't wear my glasses and can barely see the computer, so this is it for the evening.

I'm thinking of moving closer into town, so I can get the medicines I need without the long drive.  Got a place in mind.

See you later.

  1. Beautiful clouds! Hope you didn't discover any leaks. You know, as soon as you move closer to gets meds, your cold well miraculously disappear. Hoping for a sunny day tomorrow.

    1. Thanks Jeff. It was that Wal-Mart and those millions of people that did me in. Should stay in the desert where I belong. :)) Looking forward to some warm Sun after last night's downpour. If I felt better I would drive over to Coyote Wash and see if it flooded.

  5. We had the same type of clouds and weather over here today. I love the dark clouds contrasting with the the light, great pictures. I know the desert needs the rain so I will try not to complain...:)
Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

    1. Thanks Deb. We got the rain. It rained hard all night here. Thank goodness I'm on solid ground. More rain than I've seen in Arizona ever in my previous six years here.

  6. Ahh, so sorry you are sick. I had that stuff last November and it sucks. Hang in there and stay inside. This too shall pass, it may just take a couple of weeks.

  7. A couple of weeks!! You sure are encouraging, Nancy. :)) I'm hoping for a couple of days. Last night I wasn't so sure it would pass. Thought maybe I would pass. I think I'll live if you want to call it that.

    1. Thanks Cheryl Ann. Resting is hard for me to do right now with so much to do. But I'd better if I'm ever to get well.

  10. Be careful! Our friend had a cold. He was getting better but then suffered a relapse. The relapse turned into pneumonia. I don't want to be negative Nellie. I just don't want you to get sicker. Right now I'm ordering groceries from Walmart online. Then I only have to be around one person. Beautiful photos of the clouds. Take care friend!

  13. Aww..Doug..so sorry you are under the weather! I really hope you are feeling better. Head colds are horrible and they take their own time to go away. I know you are like my hubby...don't want to lay around and do nothing!! At least you are in a beautiful place to feel better

    1. True Shirley. If I would stop acting so miserable and look around, I would probably feel better. Hard to slow down with so much to do.
