First night in the White Lion

Location:  Saddle Mountain BLM near Tonopah, Arizona

Slept well last night.  I was very tired.  Woke this morning around 6:30 and laid in bed after turning the Wave heater on to warm things up.  It was 32 degrees this morning and that is cold.  Read my comments and answered them and started reading posts from other blogger friends of mine.

At 7:30 with the rising sun, Yuma and I got out of bed to start our daily routine.  Got my breakfast done around 10 o'clock just in time for Deb to come by.  She has graciously volunteered :)) to help me move my stuff from Miss Adventure to the White Lion.

I had planned on this taking two days, but Deb is a real worker bee and wouldn't let me dawdle.  She looked at the situation, came up with a plan and off we went in flurry of dust.  We were climbing everywhere to get to my stuff and move it or throw it.
Deb analyzing the situation.

Me deep inside Miss Adventure.
Yuma keeping guard and relaxing.
Good thing he was watching our backs because some cowboys and cowgirls tried sneaking up on us, but Yuma caught them.
Riders heading towards Saddle Mountain.
Deb rewarding Yuma for being such a great watch dog.
We worked tirelessly till around 3 o'clock and then we both were just tired out.  The day was beautiful for this endeavor.  62 degrees, no wind and blue skies.

After five hours we decided to call it a day.  Deb headed home for lunch and I did the same.  After lunch, Yuma and I both laid on our nicely made bed and rested for several hours.  Almost missed the sun dropping below the mountains to the west.
Yuma is a little confused as to why we are staying in the White Lion tonight, but at least all the stuff he is familiar with is here.  Hopefully, we both sleep well tonight.

I sure appreciate Deb's help.  This was a hard day for both of us, but the transition has come a long way today.  Hopefully, Miss Adventure will be ready to search for a new owner by the end of the weekend, if all goes well.

I think Yuma is trying to tell me something.  I guess he has already transitioned to his new beautiful bedroom.  First time he has seen the bed made. :))
See you later.

  1. The White Lion looks like an awesome unit. You will have so much room. And Miss Adventure looks a bit like what we want to downsize to. Hmmmmm. Sleep well.

    1. You are sure welcome to look at it or in this case since you are in Mexico, I could go over its good points and honestly the bad ones. I would even give you a discount being a friend and fellow blogger. Just email me at vette56333@gmail.com

  3. Thanks Dolly. You're right. Deb is no nonsense and isn't big on keeping things that aren't needed. I had to hold her back to keep her from throwing almost everything I own away. :))

    1. Haha....you didn't throw anything away except maybe an empty box. I'm glad we had the main stuff moved so you and Yuma could at least start to live in the new rig. I think he'll feel better now knowing that his home is still with you but just in a different box on wheels. I'm looking forward to a break today.

    2. Me too Deb. Long day and it would have been forever if it weren't for you two. Thanks so much.

  4. Moving (no matter what kind) is always hard work and stressful. But I think everybody needs to move or switch rigs once in awhile in order to purge things. No matter how hard I try we seem to accumulate stuff.

    1. True. I was surprised at the amount of stuff I actually had that I never use. Did purge a little. Hopefully when things settle down I'll go through and get rid of it.

  5. Did you wake up wondering where you were? I think Yuma has settled right in and will appreciate the extra room. Moving is a pain. When I bought my new rig, I had to move everything from my fifth wheel by myself. Deb was a good influence ... throw that stuff out if you don't use it often!!

  6. Wow ! What a woman that Deb is ! And, what a great friend to crawl around & do all that work. Plus, make decisions and help you "cut the cord" and get rid of a lot of stuff. And, that photo of Yuma on the bed is the real money shot. No wonder you were so determined to get the White Lion - what a beautiful rig. Congratulations !!! 😎

    1. Thanks Moonfly. It sure was a help to have Deb with me on moving stuff. I'm learning, but it's hard to throw things away.

    1. Thanks. I hear you two are going through the same experience with a new trailer. We can all have this fun together. At least you moved your old one quickly. That saves a lot of stress.

  8. Nice that Deb was able to help you move things. It's always amazing how mush STUFF we have stashed in an RV.
Looks like Yuma found his bed now where are you supposed to sleep. LOL!
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. I was surprised at all the accumulation of stuff I have. Filled a lot of the bays with junk. Deb is right, I do need to purge slot of stuff I never use. It's always a battle trying to keep Yuma on his side of the bed. He's a bedhog. :))

  9. Just for the record, Doug didn't throw out much of anything. He is correct, I didn't let him dwadle but we didn't rush either. It was a steady process of clearing out one room/section at a time and putting away everything from that section before we moved on to the next one. That way there wasn't a big pile to be put away at the end. If Doug had shown the urge to purge it would have taken longer and we wouldn't have gotten as much moved. Haha

    1. That's right Deb. I'll purge later. :)). I really am glad you were there to help. I would still be moving stuff.

    1. Thank you Elva. He's still not sure which one is home yet. Getting closer. Once Miss Adventure is gone then he'll know.

  11. While traveling in an RV certain things have to be carried that may never be used. We always carried some lumber with us in case of getting stuck in sand or having to level a wheel up. Always carried an air compressor in case of tire problems. Always carried 'tarps' just in case, etc. etc. But yes we did accumulate some unnecessary stuff along the way but each Spring after returning home we would haul things out and make decisions. Class A Motorhomes have lots of space in the basement and that was another reason we preferred them.

    1. More space more stuff. I was surprised at how full the new motorhome was after transferring everything. Miss Adventure could hide it well. :))
