We were up around 9 o'clock this morning, and when I stepped outside it was quite cool at about 48 degrees. Can't complain though, no wind and lots of sun. It is going to be a great day!
Yuma and I sat outside, me with my coffee and him with his morning doggie treat. So nice to be able enjoy the great views without a strong wind.
I was enjoying the sun and reading my comments and the last one was from Eric and Susan, the young couple I met several weeks ago at Ogilby Road near Yuma, Arizona. I took them down to Mexico to show them around. Me being the old pro, having been there all of two times.
I had told them about the things to see and do in Borrego Springs, and they wrote me in a comment that they were near by. In fact they could see me from their ridge just up the highway about a mile.
About 12:30, I drove up and we had a great chat about the area and I gave them more specific information about what to see and do here. I'm sure they will enjoy the area. Hopefully, I will join them on some places I haven't been this time around.
It was just a little later, up drives Deb in her car to check the place out before Tom drove the Stinger "B" up here. She must have liked the view, because, not too much later here comes the Stinger "B" with Deb leading the way.
They parked in the next site over, close enough so that if it becomes crowded this weekend, no one parks between us. Yuma was so happy to see his friends again. I think he must get bored with just me to pet him. You can check out their blog at: Celebrating the Dance.Deb and Riley, On a long and lonesome highway.... are staying on a ridge about 4 miles away as the crow flies. It is their favorite place, but the road to their site is a little rough for 40 foot motorhomes.
Before I knew it, it was time for Happy Hour and we sat overlooking the desert and Badlands while we sat and talked till the sun went down.
Tom got pretty close to the edge of the cliff and Yuma told him to get back. When the day started, Yuma and I were all alone, and now we have all our Ogilby Road friends except for Ivan, Roadtrip 2023. Never know. He might just show up too!Turned out to be a great day with friends, just like old times. With the sun setting,
we called it another night in the desert. Tomorrow is another day of adventures. Yuma and I came home and had dinner and after posting this blog, it will be bedtime. Thanks for stopping by.
Glad Tom got the motorhome up the road there are lovely views up here for sure. Nice seeing you and Yuma again. It was a great first sunset in this spot. Fingers crossed the wind continues to stay as calm as it did tonight.
ReplyDeleteGlad you came up the cliff for the views. I think we're in a period between storms now.
DeleteOur forecast is for sun with not too much wind. I hope yours is the same! The views are wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteSame here. Beautiful days ahead.
DeleteWe debated about up there but with all the wind we are happier down here. Glad D & T made it up there. We will be by for a visit today sometime.
ReplyDeleteDeb
Thanks for coming by. Enjoyed our get together in the sun this morning.
DeleteI know one happy PUP! :)
ReplyDeleteYuma is so glad his friend are back. He's become terribly social.
DeleteYou're getting to be a popular local travel guide! Nice to have some friends to share your experiences with. Fran and I will be out over the weekend for a chance to view the comet.
ReplyDeleteThat's how all learn the best pla es to go. Other RVrs. Be sure to stop by. I'll see if I can find my binoculars and my camera stand.
DeleteWhat a cute picture of Yuma with Tom. It looks like he's marching. It's nice that Eric and Susan found you so you can teach them the places to visit. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYuma really likes Tom because he gives him cookies. Was glad to see Eric and Susan again.
DeleteIts good to be close to your friends again.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dolly.
DeleteI rode my bike over to the old spot to see if there was going to be a happy hour, as it finally seemed like the weather was going to cooperate - but all I found was empty desert where you all had been - though I know you were gone earlier. I headed up Quartzsite way today to spend a bit of time here. I'm sure our paths will cross again somewhere down the line. Enjoy Borrego!
