I surprised myself by getting up early to do my brain puzzles and was up before 8 o’clock. I was determined today I was going to postpone breakfast and run into Yuma to hopefully replace my radiator overflow tank.
I had read a comment from a viewer that the part I needed was a Ford part. Before going to Ford, I decided to check with a radiator shop. Nice guy, called and found one he could get in a couple of days, but it was made of aluminum and not plastic like my old one. $600 and it would be mine. Needless to say I balked at that price.
Asked him about junk yards and he directed me to one not far away. This guy got on the phone and found one in stock right in town. Guess where! At the Ford dealership. Still not cheap, but cheaper at $350. Worth it to have it in hand instead of waiting for an online order. Thank you Mr. Anonymous.
Home by 10:30 and quickly fixed a cup of coffee and fixed three pieces of bacon and three eggs for breakfast. Then walked over to the group having their coffee. They were shocked I was up getting something done before noon.
Tom came over and the two of us put the new radiator overflow tank in and filled it with anti-freeze. Then it was time to test. Guess what! The White Lion would not start. What a bummer. Tried numerous times with no luck. Guess I’ll try again in the morning.
We had a nice Happy Hour and as the sun set we all went home to make our dinners. I had two cheeseburgers with chips and dip. Watching the Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD shows and then it will be time for bed. The weather today was perfect from sunup to sundown. Love it!
Thanks for stopping by.
