Sunrise over Black Mountain
Today, I didn’t go anywhere. Just lounged around the motorhome with Dolly and Fergie. Tomorrow, we will have completed two weeks here in Ajo. I had wondered if the tanks in the motorhome were big enough to allow us to stay in one place for this long without having to move.
Well, we have done an excellent job of being frugal with the water and the propane. The grey and black tanks are still indicating green. We could probably stay a month without having to move, but we’re leaving Monday anyway. Nice to know we can spend more than two weeks at one place, in case we need to do that in the future.
It will be with sadness that we must leave this beautiful place. The desert is full of cactus of all kinds, with mountains and rock spires sprinkled in to the landscape, giving it a majestic appearance. Almost every morning and evening, the sun splashes the clouds with reds, oranges and pinks. During the black of night, the stars twinkle across the sky as far as you can see. This is truly a special place.
Yesterday, I stopped at the historic mall in Ajo for a few last pictures. It was nice to walk on grass for a change.

That last picture is sure a keeper. Nothing quite like a desert sunset.
