Location: BLM in Quartzsite, Arizona
Another night of jets taking off or was that many, many trains going by with no whistles. I guess I didn't get far enough away from I-10 in my last move. Those trucks sure make noise passing through the valley.
Looks to be another beautiful and warm day. It was early when I got up and I caught the sun just as it peeked over the mountains east of Quartzsite.
Wasn't in any hurry to hunt for a new site, so slowly had breakfast and took a few walks with Yuma. It was around noon when Yuma and I jumped in the Jeep and started searching further south of the interstate but still on the west side of town.
Found a place in towards town but on the other side of the mountains. You can see Dome Rock behind me now.

Made it with time to spare. Had a great time meeting and getting to everyone better. Around 6 o'clock it started cooling down and everyone headed off to prepare supper.
Higgins didn't like Yuma coming to his special place at Happy Hour.

Yesterday, Jeff one of my many readers suggested I add a search button to the blog, so I did. You can find it at the top of the smaller right column. Thanks Jeff.
I'm sitting in the Jeep near the interstate doing my post because I don't get any reception at my site. Another move tomorrow is in the forecast.
See you later.
Beautiful sunrise and sunset. That Higgins looks like a character. Cute dog. Good luck finding a place with better reception!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dolly. Higgins was a little pushy with Yuma. Would snip if Yuma got too close.
DeleteThe 'Search' is working great! As you are in and out of our back yard I wanted to know your past excursions. Happy Hour with friends is always a good time!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeff. I'm glad you suggested it. Wish California was a little more inviting but I do love the Borrego Springs area. Im sure if I did a little research there are lots more places to visit.
DeleteInternet there isn't very good no matter where you park. There are just too many people. I used to work on my blog around 5:00 am in order to get reception. Beautiful sunset!!
ReplyDeleteThat'll never happen Nancy. You're right about the crowds. Every year is bigger. Yuma and I made it through the whole length of the big tent and only bought one coffee mug. Good for me.
DeleteHope you find a spot you can stay a while in! Looks like the weather is warm and beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve. Very crowded desert around here. Weather is just gorgeous. 74-44 temperature and always sunny. Can't beat that.
DeleteGoodness.! You are having a hard time finding a good campsite with so many things to consider. People, wifi, Gold Rush, truck noise, gunshots, view, Yuma, and staying close to the "White Lion" while trying to make a decision. Wishing you a stress-free day & Good Luck in all your adventures. Just listen to Yuma as he usually knows what's Best. 🍀😎🍀
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Finding the right site is a definite hit or miss situation. What will I do wandering around in 40 footer wit 20 feet of tow vehicle. I'll need a football field to turn around. Trying to keep stress down but hard with all that is going on.
DeleteSure know what you mean by the Q being so crowded this time of year at Quartzfest. Think we went 4 or 5 years in a row and then that was it. No more.
ReplyDeleteI finally made my visit to the Big Tent. One walkthrough and Yuma and I were were done for this year. It is a madhouse for sure.
