Day of rest

Ogilby Road west of Yuma, Arizona

Even though I woke earlier today I felt much stronger.  I'm on Pacific time now and my body seems to like it.  Although the sun now comes up earlier based on time, it is later.  Does that make sense?

Anyway, I got back on my three cups of coffee and slow breakfast routine.  Felt good.  It is breezy but warm.  Didn't even need a hit on the heater this morning.

First thing I did after breakfast was wash the dishes and the two aluminum bowls Deb gave me full of salads and later in the morning I took them down to her RV.  I knew she wasn't there, but I wanted to visit with Riley for a bit.
When she opened the door the aroma of nut bread floated out and boy did it smell good.  I should have waited till it was done before stopping by.  :))  Riley is a great cook.

After leaving her place I looked around for a site closer to the group.  I found one within walking distance.  Went back to the MH and moved about a quarter mile to the new site.  There is a lot of empty space out here.

I'm now across the road from Tom and Deb in the black and yellow RV "Stinger bee" and Deb and Riley in the 5th wheel "Igloo" further down the road.
After that all Yuma and I did was lay in the sun and take occasional walks around the desert.  Yuma is much happier in this quiet area and kept wanting to check out the neighborhood.

Late in the afternoon, Tom and Deb returned from visiting friends in Fortuna Foothills just East of Yuma and we all met at their place for a chat that lasted past sundown.  We talked about everything and had a good time.
Got home fixed dinner and hooked up my local channels antenna to see if it would still pick up the Yuma stations and it did perfectly.  Watched the season premier of Manifest and called it a night.  Looking forward to another good night's sleep.

Here's the map of my move from Mittry Lake.

See you later

  2. That is one great shot of the sunset. Perfect timing.
Glad you moved on down closer. It was certainly a nice way to end the day sitting and chatting with friends.
P.S. you are right about Riley's cooking. I had a small taste of her last loaf of banana bread, delicious.

    1. Thanks Deb. I'm usually not comfortable around group settings but I enjoyed our Small group. We have a lot in common, but enough differences to keep up a lively conversation.

  3. My pups are just like Yuma. They hate fireworks and gun shots. Glad you are in a quieter space with some of the best neighbors ever!

    1. Thanks Nancy. The weekends this year have been the worst. Lots of duck hunting. Never had that in the past years. When are you coming to the southwest?

    1. Thanks Shirley. I'm having a nice time. Yuma is the best buddy, but it's nice to visit too. Yuma likes it as long as he isn't ignored. :))

  6. I doubt that we have ever baked in the RV, the smell of nut bread would be awesome in the morning. Enjoy the warmth of friends and the desert.

    1. No baking but a lot of steak burning over the stove. Not the best smell. May have to start using the propane grill.

  7. I love your photo of your RV against the mountain. Beautiful. Solitude is nice but friends around you is also nice. Best of two worlds...

  8. There are some great Jeep roads near where you are and they run into the Cargo Muchacho Mountains. An active mining site, some old mine sites, a big deep quarry with water in the bottom, etc. The old Tumco townsite is just up the road too but you may have already been there. Ogilby Road is a great place for quietly relaxing and soaking up some sunshine.
