Fixing and cleaning

Location:  Dome Rock road on the west side of Quartzsite, Arizona

Keith flying his electric motored plane.
For some reason I couldn't sleep at all last night.  So many things running through my head and when I got up, nothing got done thinking about it.

Going to be a beautiful day.  I had heard it was going to become windy later in the morning, but never did.  No wind to speak of all day.  I tried to ignore fixing the water leak by eating my ten Ritz crackers very slowly, but it didn't help.  Just got warmer outside while I dawdled.

Finally, at 11 o'clock  decided to go out and see what the problem was and if I could fix it with my limited abilities.  Yesterday, I had gone into town and bought tape and some kind of plumbers dough.

What had happened was on my last move I put a water jug in the bathroom sink and I guess as I was bouncing along, the jug hit the faucet knob and turned on the water.

Learned something too.  Don't leave your water pump on when traveling!  Anyways, luckily I did not have the sink plugged or it would have been a catastrophe.  All my wood floors would now be warped.

I had a full tank of fresh water and that pumped into the grey tank till the pressure loosened up the tape from my last attempt at fixing the leak.   The water then went into the bay and onto the pavement.  Fortunately, the grey tank was practically empty before this.

I tore off the old tape, put gobs of the plumber's dough around the leaking area and kneaded it in real good.  Then I took that waterproof tape they advertise on TV that will hold two pieces of a boat together as it speeds across the water.

Then Yuma and I took it to the Pit Stop and for $4 we filled it up and to my surprise and happiness, no more leak.  Hopefully it holds up for the new owners.  Probably be asked to have the pipe replaced during inspection.  Oh well!  I need water now!

After returning, I started cleaning.  I can't pay someone to clean it with it looking so dusty and dirty can I?  If anyone knows a good consignment company here or in Phoenix or Yuma, let me know.

I've got about a week to get this thing ready to my satisfaction and then my attention will turn to my next love, the White Lion.

One picture today and tomorrow will be another day similar to today.  Not going to think on my dilemma until the White Lion is in my possession sitting next to Miss Adventure.

Time for a little dinner and bed.  Not used to this fixing and cleaning thing.  See you later.

  1. Congrats on the repair! The dusting and cleaning seems to have worn you out. Trust you'll sleep better tonight.

    1. I hope so. Thank goodness I have enough time to wear I can do a good job with each room. I'm not the neatest housekeeper there ever was. :))

    1. Thanks Dolly. The remaining repairs will be up to someone else. Unless replacing an RV toilet is easy. I'll Google it.

  3. Mesa RV seems to deal a lot in Consignments, and there are several on the Apache Trail as well...

    1. Thanks MCA. Maybe they're still in town from the RV show. I'll run into Q in the morning and check.

  4. Glad you got some of your chores done.
The other day I agreed with the White Lion Name but when you think of it the White Tiger wouldn't be too bad either.
Be Safe and Enjoy the warm temperatures.

    It's about time.

    1. Youyre right about the tiger. The only reason I went with lion is because I'm a Leo. I think maybe Leo is a better name to save confusion.

  5. That turn off the pump thing was something they told me before I left the parking lot. Actually, I turn it off every time I leave the rig. No use tempting fate. Sounds like your repair worked. Good job!!

    1. Wish someone had told me. I left it on all the time. But I've learned and it only cost about $15. Cheap lesson thankfully.

  6. Glad you figured out the water leak & got it fixed already. The cleaning will keep you busy while you're waiting for the White Lion to finish inspection & detailing. Maybe one of your readers will buy Miss Adventure & you won't even have to consign her.! 😎

  7. Thanks Moonfly. I hadn't even thought of advertising it on my blog. I cold even offer a big discount if a viewer bought it as an incentive. Thanks for the idea.

  8. Nice you were able to fix the water leak yourself! I'm sure you'll do fine on the cleaning and no matter how good you do, some woman will clean it again haha. Hopefully you slept better last night!

    1. You're probably right Shirley. It's already starting to look so nice I wonder why I'm selling it.😂

  9. It is always good when the small repairs can be done ourselves. I'm sure you'll feel better selling it when things are fixed and it is cleaned up.
I like the name White Lion because it is unique. Leo is cute too, I like that. I'm always excited when someone gets a new unit. I can see you smiling now when you and Yuma sit in it the first night. Lots of room!

    1. Thanks Patsy. I usually don't name things so probably any name I use now will die out sooner or later. I hope they have the MH ready by next Monday so I can get out of here. Turned Windy this afternoon. Dust everywhere.

  10. Hee hee. I clean so the cleaning lady can come in and clean. Makes sense, right? Shirley is right. Whoever buys it will clean it. Jerry shampooed the carpet in this MH five times before we moved in. We always turn the water pump off when we travel and when we leave the rv. I never knew if this was the right procedure. Now I know! Have a wonderful day!

    1. You're right about never being clean enough. I'll just make it look nice to show the consigner but not perfect. I'm glad I learned cheaply to turn off the pump. Could have been real bad.

    1. True Steve, but I'm afraid buyers are more picky and will look under the rug.😁
