Santa Ana Winds are back

This morning started out beautifully.  Finally a little cooler but plenty of sunshine.  I had thought about leaving today but they are calling for strong winds early this afternoon, so we decided to just enjoy the quiet morning time laying out in the sunshine.

Sure enough, the winds started picking up to the point we had to come inside and this evening, it is blowing with a vengeance.  Hopefully, it dies down in the morning or we'll be here for another day.

Tonight, we are watching the Olympics and that is the excitement for the day.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Those Santa Ana winds can be fierce. Hopefully, they'll die down tomorrow. It won't hurt to have a day of rest. At least you won't have the deluge we're expecting tomorrow, then ice and snow afterward.

  2. I think over the years it was those big southwest winds barreling down out of the mountains and roaring across the desert floor that bothered us more than any other one thing. And especially at night while trying to sleep. I don't know how many times in the night I thought for sure our solar panels would be ripped right off the roof or how many times we had to scramble and get the slides pulled in. I remember one time in Borrego Springs they had wind warnings out for later in the day and we quickly packed up and went home to Congress Az.
