Yuma has been waking me in the night lately to go outside interrupting my sleep 😞. I've been leaving my shade open and I can see the sun rise but I still get my best sleep from 7 to 9 for some reason.
Woke to the sound of powered paragliders buzzing the White Lion!
It was a beautiful warm morning with no wind. Going to be a great day to do as little as possible 😀😎 Had a nice breakfast outside on our loungers and just enjoyed the paragliders flying around enjoying the morning.
At 12:30 we decided we would make the 17 mile run into Borrego Springs for a quick look around, buy a few groceries and come back home to enjoy the afternoon.
Just had to stop at Christmas Circle for Yuma 😀 |

Almost parked at the right angle 😁 |
Font's Point straight east of town. |
Took a couple hours but we made it home soon enough to meet new neighbors and enjoy the afternoon. Had to take another picture of Salton City down by the Salton Sea. About 8 miles east of us.
A couple and their dog with a new Class C were parked not far from us and first thing, Yuma ran over to meet Ripper their two year old part greyhound. Yuma and Ripper had the greatest time while we talked with the young couple, Brad and Renee from San Diego.Soon time to head in and have Ribeye steaks, potatoes and corn for dinner. Nice to have dinner at 6 o'clock instead of 8. Thanks for stopping by.
Yuma always enjoys going to Christmas Circle. It's Luke a little oasis in the desert. You'll have to spend a day looking at the metal sculptures. Ripper and Yuma will have some fun times together, if today is an example. Enjoy all the paragliders..and other people and machines flying around you.
ReplyDeleteYep. Yuma did his poop and pee there. I brought a plastic bag knowing he would 😀 Too bad Ripper's family had to leave this morning. Working folks 😆
DeleteLooks like fun! Was it your new neighbors running the power gliders? Nick has been to Christmas Circle in 2017. We made a visit to Borrego Springs when we were in San Diego. It was pretty amazing coming over the mountains from the west and seeing one green circle in a huge vast desert! That Yuma loves to meet new friends! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve. Not much else green here. That's how I make friends is through Yuma 😀
DeleteThe Salton Sea has a very interesting history. Paragliders? Fun to see them, but not about to land on your rig. YIKES!! Glad Yuma enjoyed the day!! By the way, RIBEYE steaks??? Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteLots of paragliders. Yuma likes to chase them. We're living the life of luxury 😀
DeleteLove this paragliders! Thought of you last night in the middle of the night. We left our flag up and I know you don't like it, but for us we like hearing the flapping. :) I think you eat better having Nick with you :) Rib eye, you broke the bank for those I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind as long as the wind is light but we've had some Santa Ana winds that are ripping the flag apart. With my fridge situation under control we ear earlier and better.
DeleteThe paragliders get a great prospective of the badlands. Today (2/6) is the 'open house' at Slowjamastan.
ReplyDeleteYes they do. I would like to do that 😀 I'll check ou the grand opening if we go to town.
DeleteWhen we were in Julian we went on a drive to Borrego Springs. I only found one tiny "grocery" store with not much in it. Is there a "regular" store in town? Elva
ReplyDeleteNope. There are several small family stores and that's it.
DeleteOh how I would love to be there in Borrego Springs right now shuffling my feet on the green green grass of Christmas Circle.
ReplyDeleteWish you three were here too. Beautiful weather.
