This morning I made it to 8:30 before Yuma jumped off the bed and demanded I get up. We again had a lazy morning resting in the sunshine.
We could hear the voices of two of our neighbors wafting across the wash loudly discussing their political views. No gunshots, so I guess they got their points across 😁
Around 11:30 we all jumped in the Jeep and headed for the old Darby Well Cemetery.I go there every year and it is always the same. Lots of color and love in a beautiful setting. This year though, they have added a flag. Very nice touch.
After leaving the cemetery, we headed towards the Ajo and North Ajo Peaks hoping to climb one or the other. Unfortunately, all roads don't lead to either one of them, so we just wandered aimlessly following a 4wd Jeep road known as West Alley Road.
Nick decided to tackle the big hill or small mountain you see behind the Jeep while Yuma and I waited in the Jeep.Didn't take him long to get to the top and look down at me. Here are some views he saw from above.
|Black Mountain and just a sliver of the pit tailings way off in the distance.
|Mexico way to the south about 30 miles.
|See the couple with the poor doggie following behind way below Nick?
|Giving me a thankful look.
