Very windy day and snow at home

Last night the winds began to howl from the north.  Thank goodness the White Lion is pointing to the north or we would have been seriously rocking 😕.  Around 4:30 this morning the alarm went off in the Jeep because the wind was rocking it so hard.  Didn't even know it had an alarm 😀.  We didn't sleep well because of the noise the wind made.

Woke up with the sun this morning and it was clear and lots of sand in the air making for a very red sunrise.

Texted Dolly to check up on the snow storm that arrived last night and will last through the day into tomorrow.  Expecting howling winds and over a foot of snow.  They got it 😄

Lots of drifts everywhere.

Normally don't see crows at the bird feeder.
We didn't do much all day.  I even took a nap and that is rare for me.

My Solar Distribution System did a great job.  I switched over to the 600 watt system when I went to bed and turned off the 1500 watt system.  It ran the fridge all night with 12.2 volts still remaining in the morning when I  switched back over to the 1500 watt system which was ready for it with 12.7 volts 😀

Today we had a full sun day so will be interested to see how things go tonight.  A one night test a success does not make! 😔  Give it a week and then I will feel comfortable I've found a solution.

The wind howled all day and my nice patio I just put up yesterday is in ruins 😩.  The sky was clear but with the wind it was very cool and uncomfortable outside.

By evening, the wind had died down enough for me to cook NY strip steaks on the grill and with Rice a Roni and french green beans we had a delicious dinner.

Tomorrow we're looking for the same kind of day but with little wind, so hopefully we will get out and about.  Sure hope so!

I'll leave you with tonight's view out our back door back home.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Too much wind is no fun! We have a small tear in the slid topper from the desert winds.
Sounds like you have a viable power solution. Good work!

  2. It sounds like your solar powered system is going to work out fine. It's a good thing the MH is heavy or you would have rocked even more. Hopefully tomorrow will be a nicer day there. Did you get the patio restored??

    1. Still early but I'm hoping things work. Without this wind it's got to be better. Be morning before the patio is restored.

  5. It does sound like your solar set up is working well. I hope it continues for you. Good job!
A lot of patios here looked like that. Good thing your Weber didn't take a nose dive. That's never good.
Supper sounds yummy! Nicer days coming after just a couple of cold ones.

    1. I'm still in test mode but looking good. Funny you mentioned the grill. It did take a nose dive right on the solar panel laying on the ground. Luckily neither broke 😁
