Woke up before dawn this morning and started tightening down the WL getting it ready for a 26 mile drive across the massive Phoenix roadways. We were on our way to the west side to the Empire Southwest CAT shop to drop off the WL to have a health inspection.
It was about an hour drive on the most crowded highways I have ever had to travel. Stop and go traffic on six lanes of hwy 60 and I-10. Trying to change lanes was enough to give me panic attacks. Thank goodness I am big and people move over when I start my lane changes. Luckily, I made it without hitting anyone!
Arrived at the shop around 9 o’clock and pulled in and
waited till 10 o’clock to let Bill Darlington know I was there. His assistant got my information and from the
talk I could tell they were super busy and will just have to work me in as soon as
possible. Probably, not today.
They will not allow me to stay in the WL overnight, so
I grabbed what I needed and Yuma and I headed out looking for a decent motel to
spend the night or possibly more. I
finally found a nice place in Peoria, Arizona, on the west side of Phoenix. It is a Days Inn.
It’s now 6:30 and I’ve had my shower and received no
phone call from the shop. It is now near
time for “Survivor”.
Thanks for stopping by.
Glad you made it to the shop in one piece. Hopefully it won't take too long for a diagnosis. It will be nice to have a visit with Deb and Riley again after so long. Good luck on good news.
ReplyDeleteHopefully all is well. We are looking forward to visiting tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteDeb
No matter why the Lion is in the shop, I sure trust it is a quick resolution, and not interfere with your winter travels.
ReplyDeleteYou're right the Phoenix traffic sucks!
Well glad you and the White Lion were able to make it to the shop. Now you play the waiting game. Hope it's not too long. Would be nice to get some answers. Good or bad. Probably won't be good but hopefully not too bad. Be nice to visit friends while you are waiting though. Fingers crossed for good WL🦁 news.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you made it to the shop ok. Have a nice visit with Deb and Riley tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit late climbing aboard this year Doug but I have my fingers crossed your rig inspection will go well and you can get on with enjoying your travels.
ReplyDeleteWell rats ... hotel rooms are boring! Maybe you, Yuma, Deb and Riley can go for a hike in the mountains. Got my fingers crossed they get a chance to work on it very soon.
ReplyDeleteWas the WL still smoking or did driving it help?
ReplyDeleteWishing you and WL the best 👌.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elva. Hope to see you and Jerry soon.
