Today is one of the few days I have had that lying in the sun isn’t possible. It isn’t real cold, but lying in the sun isn’t possible today. Little sunlight and a cool breeze coming over the San Ysidro Mountains to the west.
At 11 am, Yuma and I drove into Borrego Springs, so Yuma could enjoy the green grass again. He didn’t get to enjoy it much yesterday.
As I drove toward town, the wind begin to really kick up over the sands just east of town. The area east of the airport is just low lying sand dunes and the wind is picking up the sand and pushing it east.
The flag was flapping hard in the breeze at Christmas Circle. Yuma loved the grass. Twice, I headed towards the jeep and he would lie down like this and look at me with those, “I’m not ready to go yet, Daddy” brown eyes of his.
He met a new friend, too
Yuma heard some noise in the sky and spotted some crows making a racket above us.
The crows flew away and Yuma was finally ready to leave the green grass for the day, as long as I promised we would come back before leaving town.
We decided to walk across the street from Christmas Circle and take a look around.
“Come and get me.”, says the the grasshopper to the scorpion.
The sun and clouds make it look like snow on the mountains. Clark Lake Dry bed looks as if it is full of water, but it is just dry mud reflecting the sunlight peeking through the clouds.
See you later.
