Windy and Cool

Last night we had a very strong wind with stronger gusts, but weighing 15 tons I wasn't worried.  The White Lion held strong.  About 2 o'clock the wind died down and the fog rolled in.  No rain, but very damp when I stepped out at 9:30  I'm a sun worshiper so, no sun and I sleep in.

As I lay in bed I called over to Kartchner Caverns to make reservations for a tour, but their computer was down and I just never called back today.  Maybe tomorrow.

We had our full courses for breakfast and it was after noon before we stepped out and by then the fog had burned off and it was sunny.  But not a day to be outside laying around.  The northwest breeze and the clouds rolling by, made for an uncomfortable feel.  It only got to 56 today.  It was in the 60s back home 😜

It was around 12:30 when a cowboy on a horse rode by the RV and when I stepped outside their were two of them rounding up all the bulls and heading them toward the ranch.  If you were wondering if this is a real ranch, you have your answer.

Three hours later three trailers full of cattle went up the road and out of the ranch.  I guess the bulls are gone😪

Yuma and I took a little walk and for the rest of the day, we just relaxed.  I did accomplish a couple of fixes around the White Lion and that was good.

When it's time to return home, Yuma is definitely not the last one their waiting at the door😀

We started dinner at 4:30 and had rib eye, potatoes and Nick fixed the rice.  It's rough being a boondocker😂

After dessert it was time for the two hour finale of "Survivor" and it was a great finish to a great season.  And the winner is..........

Wonder what tomorrow will bring.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I nice relaxing day in the grasslands. I wonder where the bulls got trailers off to. Hopefully, you'll get more bovine visitors. It was great to see the cowboys. It's really pretty where you are now.

    1. Thanks Dolly. It is beautiful here with mountains all around and the huge ranch grasslands. A cows heaven for sure. For a minute there I thought I was at the Yellowstone ranch 😀

  2. Such a beautiful area and your pictures of it are wonderful. Yuma looks like he is enjoying the area and having the chance to run free.

    1. Yes, we found a much easier place e to access on top of a hill. Problem is there are only two sites on this short road. Fortunately not many know they are here. Yuma loves it here. I can relax now the bulls are gone.

  4. I would guess the bulls are finished dating the ladies and moving on to the next herd to do some more dating, or perhaps all the cattle need to be removed for a period of time for some reason. Have no doubt there will still be a couple around, almost never collect them all in one try. Lol.
You fellas are sure eating well, Dolly must have been giving cooking lessons over the winter. If you do those potatoes on the grill in foil try adding a little fresh garlic/dill/onions to the foil packet before cooking. Makes them yummy.
Love those grasslands, so relaxing. Keep having fun.

    1. I didn't think they would send bulls to slaughter. Your thought is much more pleasant for the bulls future 🙂 I do use the garlic but not tried onions. Nice idea. We'll keep an out for any bull stragglers.

  5. Sounds like it was a good day to stay close to camp. Warm here back home but far from a nice day, gloomy, damp and very windy! I think the wind was forecasted to gust near 60 over night. Hopefully you have a sunny day to enjoy today!

    1. Yes, quite cool here but better than your area. Enjoyed our day off lounging around and watching the bull round up.

  6. Now I can relax that you guys, including Yuma, won't come face to face with a bull. I wish it was me on that horse. I do miss it!! It seems colder this year, both here and there. Hope it warms up so you can worship the sun. Nothing better than a nice warm afternoon nap.

    1. Yep. The dangers of being trampled by a bull are gone. Was neat watching the cowboys hooten and hollering rounding up those guys. I think I'm ready for warm Yuma now.

  7. Any other folks camped out there? Don't see other rigs in your pics. Nice to know there are still cowboys in the Desert Southwest, riding horses and not quads.
Wind gusts here too (88mph recorded downtown). Got a mess to clean up before it rains again.

    1. Not a soul in sight. There are only two sites on this short dirt road and the other site is empty. It was nice to see a real cattle roundup like the old days. Glad our winds weren't that bad.

Cool start to our days too but warming up nicely by mid afternoon.
