The other is that was not a full moon in that picture. The full moon is not till December 12th at 12:12 AM Eastern Time. Dolly let me know that in her comment. Just stepped outside and it sure looks full to me, but I'm wrong.
After breakfast, Yuma and I jumped in the Jeep and headed for Ajo about four miles away. Before getting to town, I wanted to give Yuma a bathroom break so I wouldn't have to worry about picking anything up in town. He did his job and ran quickly back to the Jeep.

We then went into Ajo and stopped first at the gas station to fill the Jeep and clean the windshield.
Next it was to the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters to pick up a permit allowing me to enter the refuge. They have a small museum with local wildlife, so I shot a few.
    
I headed to Olsens Market Place to pick up a few items and started my drive back home.
Stopped at the Ajo Copper News building to pick up the current paper to see what interesting events are happening this week. Notice how the roof of the building on the left matches the roof in the mural and the lines to the right of the building match the musical chords in the mural.
 
Yuma wanted to stop by the Ajo Mall because it has green grass, so that's where we went next.
  
This last one is the walkway in front of the historical Ajo train station.
Then it was home to rest for awhile.
I could have laid in the lounger till the sun set but Yuma wanted to go for one last hike.
There is Black Mountain straight up the wash looking west towards the setting sun.
Enough for one day. Time for Yuma and I to eat dinner, do the blog and go to bed.

You boys had a busy day. I don't remember the train station. It is really something with all the arches. That Yuma was flying high to get back in the jeep. Have a good night!

ReplyDeleteYou must come here. There are many jeep roads through the refuge and trails to walk. Be sure to stop at the refuge headquarters for permit and information.

DeleteI am pretty sure I have a picture of that building and never noticed that about the roof. There are some beautiful murals in Ajo. I don't blame Yuma that is a pretty green grass area in the Plaza.
