Didn't sleep well last night for some reason. It was nice and quiet but I kept waking up almost every hour. Finally got out of bed at 7:30. It was nice and sunny, but a little cool at 45 but thankfully no wind. Dolly texted me to wish Yuma a happy 7th birthday! Can't believe I've had Yuma for six years now.
Last night I had an epiphany. I had knocked a magnet out of the door frame when I was having troubles shutting the door awhile back. With no magnet, the stairs did not open or shut, so I put the magnet back in and then the stairs opened when the door was shut and closed when opened. Just opposite of what I wanted. I just unplugged the stairs and said I would worry about it later.
Last night my brain said magnets are negative and positive. What if I had put the magnet in upside down! So this morning I turned it over and voila! My stairs now work perfectly. Little slow but still got itπ
I decided to head out and look for a permanent place to stay before having breakfast. Yuma and I took the Jeep and went along Darby Well Road west instead of the Scenic Road I had taken last night. It wasn't more than 1000 feet up the road when I came upon a nice large site just off the north side of the road.
Left the Jeep there and Yuma and I walked back to the White Lion and drove it down and into our new home. Now we can have breakfast. It was 8:45 and already quite warm in the sun. Here are some pictures of my new home. Love the mountains and the cactus.

I'm glad you found a great place. I'm sure it was good to get the stairs fixed. Lovr seeing the cactus again. Lots of super pictures. Happy birthday to Yuma!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dolly. I sure like the beauty around Ajo. And of course the weather.
DeleteGosh ... the perfect spot to camp!! I hate it when my brain works overtime at night, although I usually come up with an answer to something or other. Here's hoping your steps are fixed for good. At least you can fix most things yourself. Happy camping!!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful here and a nice drive from Tucson on hwy 85. Glad I got the stairs to work right. Getting too old for the big jump π
DeleteIt is certainly beautiful where you have ended up! I don't like it either when my brain won't quit, but it certainly happens! Happy Birthday Yuma!! Whoever dug that hole should have put wire, or something around it..wouldn't wan to be the person or animal that fell in there!
ReplyDeleteYuma thanks you! I was surprised to find a hole that deep with no safety measures. Glad I came up with the solution to my stairs problem. Better late than never π
DeleteWhat a beautiful area.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elva. Always have liked this area best.
DeleteNice to see you back in the Aho area again, so pretty there. Good tip about magnetic sensors too! Gord.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how that magnet does its job but glad it works now. This area is beautiful.
DeleteI have a pretty good idea about where you are and it looks like a nice spot. Yes, those straight down mineshafts are all over the place in that area. Both the Saguaro and Organ Pipe cactus really make that Darby Well Road a special place.
