Two Worlds

When I woke up this morning at 8 o'clock and looked out my window which faces east, I could see a sunny and calm day ahead.   Texting my wife, she sent me pictures of home.  They have had 7 inches of snow this week with lots of cold and wind with more expected in the days ahead.

County road out front of the house.

Looking towards the front door from the driveway.

Looking out the front door through the courtyard.

Back door and patio.

Time to get up and fix breakfast and lay in my lounge chair.  The jostling around in the Jeep has made my neck and back sore, so decided to just lay around and rest.  We know how to rest.

As the afternoon wore on, Yuma got restless, so decided to take a little walk in the white snow, oops, I mean white sand along the American Girl Mine Wash just outside the White Lion.

It's sure warm out here!

The only cactus I've seen around here.  At 3:30 I headed over and joined the gang at the big tent.  It sure is a comfortable place to get together.  As the sun sets, Shane turns the heater on and it quickly warms the inside of the tent.

Came home at 6:30 and fixed dinner.  After my post I will watch some TV before bed.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I'm glad you had a relaxing day. Hard to believe there is only one cactus around there. It looks like a nice walk for you and Yuma.

    1. Easy day today. I like these kinds of days. I don't know why there are no Cactus around. I miss Ajo. May have to head back there soon.

  2. That is definitely a story of two worlds. The switch from snow to sand was hard to take for us here as well. Looks like a nice easy day. :)

  3. I have to laugh at you in shorts enjoying the desert warm while it's freezing cold and snowy back at your home. Definitely two different worlds. I vote for the desert myself, unless there's a sky resort next door, then I would be skiing every day.

    1. Ever snow skied? My kids do that but I've never. Water skiing is warmer. 😀

  4. Searching for another cactus is more appealing the searching for a a back deck under all that snow.

  5. Dolly's outside pictures resemble our area. Glad I don't have to shovel it.
Glad to see you're having a relaxing day.

  6. When I look at your pictures there just off Ogilby Road on American Girl Road I can just about feel everything in my bones. I know well about those trees. plants, gravel, sand, mountains and dirt. The feel in the air, the sounds of the desert, and that warming Sun. What I wouldn't give right now for a twenty minute walk in the desert......
