Short move and quiet day

This morning it was quiet and sunny when I got out of bed at 9 o'clock.  Yuma was pretty lazy this morning and wanted to rest.  The couple with the small van in my spot across the road were still there.  They are directly in my view of the Kofa Mountains .  😖  Good thing is they have to move if they want to go anywhere today so I will wait them out.

Didn't have a full breakfast again today.  Only coffee and crackers.  At 11 o'clock the van left 😀 and I walked over to see if they left a chair or something.  Whoa!

Now I've seen everything!  A couch in the desert.  Good condition except for a little tear on the top back. The seat cushions were still hard and not crunched.

The couch is real but kidding that the van left it behind.  Found this thing a little further down the road in another site.  Evidently, left for some unknown reason.  The van folks didn't leave anything behind, so I moved across the road to have my clear view of the mountains.

Decided to have a ham sandwich and a Zero Coke for lunch.  Normally, I don't eat a lunch.  Finally had some Zero Coke at the Walmart yesterday.  Been quite awhile since there were any available.  My weight has been holding steady and I don't want to change my eating habits too much.  I do love my breakfast time.

Good to see saguaro cactus again.  Not like in Ajo, but there are a few around.

I put up my Dish and local dish this morning, in hopes of catching the football play-offs today, but no luck.  Could not get the Yuma stations from here.  No football for me this weekend.

Started my post at 5 o'clock so I could play with the images to get them to upload faster.  I cut the dimensions in half and it seems to be working.  As an example, the picture above went from 6.5 mb to 384 kb.  A drastic difference in size.  They upload in seconds now instead of the three minutes or more per picture last night.

I was just getting ready to publish and I received a message from my friend Elva in Wellton, Arizona about 30 miles from Yuma.  She is unable to get local Yuma stations, but she uses Yahoo Sports app to download the football games and she watches it on her phone.  Told her I would download and give it a try.  I'll be darn it works.  Thanks, Elva!  Time for dinner and a little football.

See you later.

  1. Another beautiful sunset. I'm glad the van left so you have an unobstructed view of the mountains. Are you going to try to stuff that couch in the WL? 😄 Evan to the rescue again! Glad someone knows how to get the games. Enjoy the Kofax Mountains.

    1. Thanks Dolly. My couch is in better shape so I'll just leave it. Maybe I should check under the cushions for money or drugs. 😀

  2. I really believed you that the van people left a sofa..... lol 🤣🤣🤣. That was too funny. Glad I could help with football. I'll let my grandson in law know his help was appreciated by someone other than me.

    1. Thanks again Elva. Next time I'm in Yuma I'll get a usb-c to hdmi cable so I can hook my cellphone to my TV and mirror to the big screen.

  3. Nice you got to move to the site across the road with the clear view of the mountains. Cute about the sofa. The one thing about being out on Ogilby is no Saguaros so it is always nice to see them again. Nice sunset picture. Stay safe.

  4. People leave the weirdest things in the desert. Nice you got your site and view back. I too watch some football on my phone. Works just great.

    1. Yes they do. Next time I'm near a Walmart I'm going to buy a cable to allow me to mirror my cellphone to a TV screen. Be much better when I'm too far out for local service.

  5. I remember our first year at the Q a woman had a Cube Van filled with furniture she'd set up every day then put away at night. Where she slept, who knows.

    It's about time.

  6. A little patience paid off and you'll have the better site for the rest of your stay. I use Windows Essentials to 'Auto Adjust' and 'Resize' any photo uploads. I take snapshots anyway.

    1. Thanks for the idea Jeff. I probably should be reducing the image sizes as a matter of course even when internet is plentiful.

  8. I love that Kofa Mt view. The couch is a new addition in the last couple weeks. Why do people have to dump unwanted stuff on public lands? Much quicker load with reduce sized photos.
