Got the Call

Woke up around 6:30 this morning and turned on the Wave heater to take the chill out.  Looking outside I could tell it is going to be a perfect day.

I noticed the batteries were down to 34% which is nearly dead so I turned off the inverter until the sun came up and started charging the batteries.  With six panels it doesn't take long.

Got out of bed around 8:15 and slowly went through my breakfast routine.  It was beautiful and warm outside with not a whisper of wind and plenty of sun.  Love it!

The batteries are not holding up at night at all right now.  Hopefully, get a call from RV Connection today.  I need new batteries.  Tonight is Gold Rush night so I'll be running the generator for a couple of hours.

Around noon Yuma and I walked over to bother Tom and Deb.  So nice out we sat there and just chatted about the week ahead.
I've been here for two weeks and I plan to move to Yuma whether I get a call or not.  I need water.  Got a story to tell about water, but not tonight.

Deb went into town to do some shopping and while talking with Tom, I got the call.  My batteries are in and they will be able to get me in Monday morning! 😁  Now my plans are to head over there on Sunday and park in their parking lot for the night.  Tom and Deb will be leaving on Sunday also.

Later in the afternoon, Yuma and I took a little Jeep ride around to the west side of Black Mountain to do a little hiking.  Yuma saw at least three huge jack rabbits and gave chase to each with no success.  Those things can jump a mile with those long legs.

Close as I get

To the north is Ajo Peak and North Ajo Peak

The weather today was just perfect.  66 degree high with sun and no wind.  Hiked over 8000 steps today.  Good exercise.  Hotdogs for dinner with a small salad and pudding with whip cream for dessert.  Can't beat it.

Finish up the evening with Gold Rush and finish my blog before calling it a day.

See you later.

    1. Thanks Steve. Yuma loves chasing the jack rabbits. They are as big as a small dog. And it is beautiful out here.

  3. Just so you know having you walk over and Yuma run over for a visit we would never describe using the word "bothered". We have enjoyed spending this time together. We are glad you got the call for those batteries. Looks like you and Yuma had a fun afternoon.

    1. Visit would have been the correct word. I am glad to be getting the new batteries soon. Been a little bit of a hassle with weak batteries.

  6. Glad to read the new Batteries are in but I have a question. Why are you running your Inverter at night? Do you have a Residential or RV Fridge?
Inverters draw a lot of power and should only be on when necessary. If you intend to Boondock a lot an RV Fridge would be more practical as it can be run on Propane.
Nice that Yuma is getting a good run chasing those Rabbits.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. When I bought this RV it had a new huge double door Samsung residential fridge. I made a choice to spend my money on solar panels and batteries rather than replacing the fridge. Not sure it was the right move but the one I made.

  7. Awesome that you got the call! Sure it will make a huge difference for you and Yuma! I think I need something to count my steps, might make me move more! 8000 sounds like a huge amount! Good for you two!

    1. Thanks Shirley. I do need the exercise. Yuma not so much. The fitbit pushes me to make goals or at least let me know how I'm doing.
